I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)

    Is there an undo feature?
    This is sorta important...
EDIT: nvm, im not used to redo. I'm used to undo.

Can anyone to tell me how to set the moderators to can't rollback chests?
  4. Offline

OK I Do not see any dev builds available can you link me to it directly?
  5. Offline

I know the plugin is failing to write the dump. I'm trying to have it write the dump. It can do writelogfile with no problems.

I don't want to clear the log unless I can write the dump, so the fact that the clearlog doesn't happen when the dump fails is a good thing.

My main reason for posting was trying to figure out WHY it's not writing the dump so that I can fix the issue and have it write them properly.

Read the OP. Beneath the red text, it says 'Download latest dev build:'

As you can see there, the latest dev build was released on the 25th.

Ty appreciate it as I could not even get to that page so I do appreciate the help!

Besides forbidding all rollbacks for mods, there is no way.
Basically the MySQL server needs write access to the LogBlock/dumps folder.
If you are running a remote mysql server, there is nothing you can do (besides getting a local one).

What do you think the ETA for Guardian would be? How soon would the first alpha release come?

Hi, I think I have an error in my MySQL database, could you please tell me how to fix it?

  11. :'( Awh Diddiz, sad to see that you're leaving your project. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you! Also on behalf of my server! You've made an excellent plugin, that was the key element of keeping my server safe!
    Thank you! :)

Wow thanks for the response i fixed it before tho i just forgot to get on here and edit my post! sorry for that
  13. I have trouble getting chestaccess to work. Logblock is set to auto-install spout, however, it didn't do that, so I manually downloaded the latest SputPlugin.jar file. However, when I use the command "/ lb area 3 chestaccess" while standing right in front of the chest I want to check it gives back the message "No results found". I have enabled Chestaccess = true.

I am using an NFS share across the 3 servers (MC, web, DB) you could also use CIFS.
  15. Offline

Ok, but can you add this feture in some next version?
I really need it. Some of my moderators make mistakes and rollback chests of the users, then I don't know how to explain that to them...

When will this be updated ;D?

    I hope soon ;)

Where did you get fresh LogBlockQuestioner.jar from ?
  22. Offline

Not using one. Only a few of us have rollback right now so it isn't much of a concern.
  23. Offline

Actually what does LogBlockQuestioner.jar do and can't we run LogBlock without it ?
  24. Offline

It gives you the /yes /no confirmation for rollbacks. It is optional.

You can always '/lb redo player blah blah' if you mess up a rollback.
  25. Offline

Oh. It's not a big deal then :D
  26. Offline

Update to latest dev, it's fixed there
  27. Offline

Working against bukkit 1.2 R0.1 2003 dev just fine with LB 108 dev.

Any word on getting questioner updated?
  28. Offline

I just switched to bPermissions today and for some reason EVERYONE can use the log tool to check logs even if they don't have permission. This isn't THAT big of a problem but people are annoyed that they cant build with Logs (our loggingblock)
  29. Offline

You need to explicitly negate the permission

        - ^logblock.tool.block
    for example.
  30. Offline

You need to manually set the settings to false in the plugin.yml inside the jar file or issue a false or negative value for each permission you dont want the groups to have default true lb permissions. IMO everything should always default to op only or false and force using permission nodes but thats me. Kind of silly seeing so many negative value permissions in my groups but oh well....
