I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    Hi there!
I've just set up the plugin, but it does not log what I do.

I've read that you can type "/lb logging" to see what world it logs, and that says "ENDERDRAGON".
However, there's no world that is called ENDERDRAGON on my server.
I'm sure that in the config it says "World".

    Any idea what's wrong?
  7. Offline

    i had same problem today.

i set ENDERDRAGON to false in world config

    now it works

I have a slight problem. Logblock works fine and everything it's just that ALL of my groups can use it. I have checked back at permissions and everything is right. It's a big problem since I need to be able to rollback griefs and players shouldn't. Any suggestions on what I should do?
  9. Offline

    Just disable clearlog.dumpDeletedLog
Just the autoupdater, set the version number manually (version in lb config to '1.51'
/lb logging tells you what actions LB is logging in the world you are in. Check/delete your world config.
Are really all players allowed to rollback, not just allowed to use the tools? That would be a problem with your permissions setup.
/lb permissions - Lists all permissions you've got

Anyway to do this Without using MySQL? Can't I just use my computer? I don't know how to even get MySQL

But what if I want it to save past logs when it clears them? I just did it and it deleted older logs sure. But it never dumped the older logs it clears to file like I wanted it to for later if the dispute. This way I could still have the proof.

You can only make dumps if the mysql server has write access for the LogBlock folder, so remote mysql server are excluded and with a local you may have to adjust write rights.
What do you have as loggedWorlds? As said the world names are case sensitive, so you have to write World instead of world.
If this doesn't help, update to dev, the error messages might be a bit more detailed there.

The other day I got a funny glitch where while a few people were looking in a chest and one person took out an item, then it would dupe it in the logs for all associated. After further testing then it was still happening. One of the times it even didnt log anyone taking anything out, and another it logged only the opposite person. Possible Bug?

It is local. MySQL was installed with DA on to the box. I don't use a remote host. Is there a way I can check to see if it has write access the folder is already set to 777

I can't find it mentioned before so I will ask anyway. Do you plan to record mob spawning for spawn eggs? I understand there is no way you can handle all the ways that ops can spawn mobs using plugins, but the spawn eggs are a vanilla method that can only be used by players. If I find that someone has spawned 1000 chickens or a bunch of creepers, I count that as griefing. I would like to identify the culprit. Spawning from a dispenser would probably have to be added in the future.

Or is this something to leave for Guardian?

Any way to make LogBlock log block breaks done with super pickaxe?
  25. Offline

    Guardian, absolutely :D
Yup, use the loggable Superpickaxe instead
    Update craftbukkit.
Yeah, du to the lack of build in chest events, the current workaround can't distinguish when multiple players open the same chest at the same time.

Me neither, nothing is logging and I'm not getting any errors to tell me what's going on.

Hello, I am just wondering a couple things. First of all i would like to know if it would be possible to use logblock as a sort of stats tracking plugin. Something for tracking what a user has broken or placed on a web interface for stats if a user wants to know their most commonly broken block or placed, and so on. secondly if it would be welcomed to have a web interface that you can search a username and see all their block changes for making grief investigation easier for admins. I am working on both sites currently and i would love to consort with the LogBlock Dev's to speed this project up.

    Thanks DJHenjin.

Once I download the "MySQL" server, what do I do? Step by step please, quite networking-impaired.
Having my server let others join (port forwarding) is my biggest accomplishment :)

      AND w.z >=-166 AND w.z <=-146
    GROUP BY p.playerid
    ORDER BY p.playername
This SQL query returned kills statistic. You must change time interval and place coordinates.
