I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    Really great plugin!
I love the feature of rollbacking in a WorldEdit selection (something that BB didn't have).
Will you release soon the /undo command ?
  4. Offline

It's alredy written, release is in the next days. I prefer to call it redo.
And selection lookup will come, too.

I have noticed that logblock will stop writing to the database after about 12 hours. If I restart the server it seems to connect fine. The last record written was last night at around midnight. There have definitely been changes since then. The database is about 20MB, not that big.
craftbukkit is 617, logblock was latest version as of April 1, 4:45 pm eastern time.

    Here are the errors encountered:

At first view I would say that your MySQL server breaks.

    I'll add a nullpointer check.

Tried to convert from bb to LogBlock:
#1052 - Column 'playername' in on clause is ambiguous
  8. Offline

What columns does your bbdata have?
  9. Offline

Around that time is when some other server backups happen. It is likely there was a high load and mysql didn't respond for a short time.

niece one, looks working fine for now...

    just one thing:

Just change the path to download for updater :)

Seems like BB overtook now a bit of my table format.
Updated converter. (Qualified the column names)
    Ah, forgot this.

Could I request / suggest feature to make it perfect ?

My moderators told me that with latest build all works good just they missing "undo" function if they rollback player ( whole history ) by mistake would be nice to get it back :D

Also one more comment, it is easy to find who destroy blocks, but not when.. is it possible to add also time when was the last change ? So Moderators can rollback by specific ( aprox. ) time ?

Apart that all is great !
  14. Offline

    Of course :D
It will come with next update. It's alredy written.
Hm, it's unhandy (I'm working on it), but "/lb block" provides a timestamp, when you ask for a block the griefer changed.

Awsome, my moderators are happy :D

Great Plugin. But i have a Question.
Im to dumb to use the time command properly.
I tried every combinations but im doing something wrong. Can you give me an example?
Like: /lb rollback area 10 minutes? hours? days?

That was once, now it has to be in the lib/ folder. (I forgot to update the FAQ ...)
LB does auto download, but has sometime problems to use it. Restart LB and it should work.

    DiddiZ - I have a feature request.

Any chance you could log player deaths? All I need is date/time and who (or what) they were killed by. I know there are several death broadcasting plugins, and some will log to text files, but it would be awesome if it was all in one place/database.
  20. Offline

Hi Diddiz thank you for the plugin, I was trying to download it but in the folder I just get what seems to be java .class files, where can I find the .jar file for the latest version? Thank you!
  21. Offline

Hm, the current structure would theoretically allow that, but I'm not sure about. Maybe sometime.
Try to not use the internet explorer, ie messes up downloaded jars, and obvious even zips containing a jar.
  22. Offline

ah! was the built in mac zip app that was messing up the jar, used stuffit expander and now I have the jar, cool, thanks!!!
  23. Offline

There has been a rash of this happening for alot of people. I just rename the .zip file to .jar and all is well, as least for me it has been.

    Hello ...

    i´m a little bit confussed ...

I configured the config ... but getting always same error ...
I found this at the logs ...

Maybe they cant find the db ?!

  25. Offline

I would donate $5 if you implemented death logging
  26. Offline

I would say, LB can't find a database db, because you dont have one.
    url: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/db
Replace db with the actual name of your database.
Hm, thats an offer. I'll sleep on it.
  27. Offline

I put it in the lib folder, same error :(
  28. Offline

    Thank you DiddiZ !! =)

    Working now

Wasn't it alredy there? Hm ...
Are we talking about the same folder? FolderWhereYuorCraftbukkitIs/lib?

does LogBlock allow for rolling back environment changes? ie. yesterday, I accidentally melted a block of ice by placing glowstone too close to it. doing /lb rollback area <radius> <time> <units> only removed the glowstone, but the water was still there and the ice was still gone?
