I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

ok, im getting this weird error.
logblock is telling me that someone edited a sign and some blocks.
when i do /lb rollback username area 15 it tells me 0 blocks found.
however i'm standing right next to it.

    Try with time spec:
/lb rb player name area 15 since 1d

When I check a block it says someone has edited the block but when trying to roll someone back with the command /lb rollback player <playername> since 1d (they edited the block within 1 day), after /yes it says deleting logs and clears the person from the logs and doesn't roll anyone back. =/

    P.S. Still says under changelog:
    Code:
    LogBlock v1.33 (Oct. 04, 2011)

Ty, forgot to change it in the op.
I guess you did multiple rollbacks? There are two questions for each rollback: 1. Are you sure and 2. Do you want to clear the log. When you confirm a second rollback and didn't answer to the previous clearlog question, the answer is used for first question.

What should I query for if I'm searching the DB for what edits by a player were rolled back? For instance, a player has 90000 edits and I want to find the 20 that were rolled back. In BB it's just SELECT * FROM bbdata WHERE `player`=(idhere) and rbacked=1; but I can't figure out what I'm looking for with the LB database.

    There is no real way.

Hm, workaround: if you log chat: "/lb chat player name search rollback" or "search rb". Then you'll know the paras and can try to redo these ... doesn't work for area

Okay, LogBlock just decided to do nothing after I updated to 1.32.

I can't get toolblock to work, at all. I've tried with the config's defaults and with block 17 (log :)
I have said /lb toolblock on and /lb tool on, and off, and still nothing.

    my permissions from PermissionsBukkit:
    Code:
                logblock.*: true
                logblock.tool: true
                logblock.toolblock: true
                logblock.tools.tool: true

also I am OP on the server.

when I say /lb toolblock, I get greeted with "You aren't allowed to do this."

What I am doing wrong? This worked just fine prior updating to 1.32

/lb area -lookups work just fine, just the tool and toolblock don't.

Edit: Also, no console errors or anything.

Edit2: Further testing got me this when I say /lb tool

    You need :
    Code:
                logblock.*: true
                logblock.tools.tool: true
                logblock.tools.toolblock: true
Can't add the tool permissions to loblock.* due to a bikkit issue with dynamic permissions.

The npe looks strange, maybe it's also fixed with tool block permission.

I'm having similar sql errors because some auto-update didn't work. However the sql file on the site is outdated and I've grabbed several field changes from the code on github but there's more missing. Can you update the sql source?

Area doesn't return buttons either. Also, I found a new, more concerning bug... Lately, I've been logging onto the server and being unable to do any queries. LB still responds to things like /lb commands and /lb params, but if I try to do a lookup or use the tool, it doesn't respond. At all. I think I found the problem today. I had the same issue, and I looked at the console, and there was this strange entry:
    Code:
2011-10-08 08:37:07 [INFO] Attempted to place a tile entity ([email protected]) at 11,64,10 (AIR) where there was no entity tile!

The server would always get stuck there, and would refuse to keep going without LogBlock. I had to delete the queues in order for the server to start back up. I went to that furnace tile entity block that was mentioned, and it was an empty air block floating over the ocean. I'm not sure what's going on, but I have a feeling that the two are related.

2011-10-08 10:18:59 [SEVERE] [LogBlock] Error while fetching connection
com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure...It is probably a problem with MySQL?

    Oh, sure, updating now.
But you can set version in config to 1.30 and restart to have the tables autoupdated.
    That means MySQL connection lost.
That explains why normal commands worked, but no lookup.

Your second error is new to me, but could be related to Spout.

And to your third error: set version in config to 1.30.
Yeah, you didn't set the MySQL conection data in config.

kk, then it's from bukkit. May be caused by world corruption or plugin malfunction, idk.

Calm down and check for the error log :D

Well when I type /plugins Logblock is red, so that means its outdated? Its it updated for 1.8.1??

Red means disabled for some reason, no MySQL connection in this case. Get you a MySQL server and add the connection data to the LB config.

    @DiddiZ
Couple questions never used anything advanced till today when it came to large areas with logblock haha..

    1) I did /lb sel and woot worked well besides PAGES ewww haha. I use spout with like a infinite log pretty much I was wondering if I can get rid of having to do page by page. Heck I don't even know how to go next page even haha.

    2) Is there a way to exclude a players name when I do /lb sel so I don't have to see my name on my land for example?

    3) Is there a way when I do /lb sel it gives me the Latest date not the oldest :)

Thanks so much hows guardian going btw? I been spying on you a bit on github ;)

    1. Set lookup.linesPerPage to a different value, browse with /lb page <number>, /lb + /lb -
    2. Sure, /lb sel player !diddiz
    3. /lb sel asc, if you find more than 1500 rows it will unfortunately cut off the newest. Either use a smaler selection then, or set lookup.maxPages to a higher value (returned rows = linesPerPage * maxPages)
Guardian grows slow atm oliverw92 is kind of busy now
