    This plugin will allow the players on the server to create factions/guilds. The factions can claim territory that will be protected from non-members. Factions can forge alliances and declare themselves enemies with others. Land may be taken from other factions through war.

    The goals of this plugin:
    • The players should be able to take care of anti-griefing themselves.
    • Inspire politics and intrigues on your server.
    • Guilding and team spirit! :)

    The chat console command is:
    • /f
    This command has subcommands like:
    • /f create my faction name

    Current ToDo list:
    1. More admin controll, for example reassign faction admins.
    2. Command to reload config file.
    3. Give factions a limited number of separate territories. "You may only claim at the border of your territory". Purpose of this is to stop players from claiming land in a scattered way. Factions will be more stationary. This will encourage factions to build one main town.

    EDIT: by the way, you do need to have build 726 or newer of CraftBukkit (RB 733, for instance) since the painting events were added then.

    • Fix for enemy attacks potentially healing people in their own territory due to armor calculations, instead of correctly just giving reduced damage.
    • Placement/use of these items inside another faction's territory is now prevented: redstone wire, sign, flint&steel, bucket (empty, water, and lava).
      Code is also in place to prevent placement of beds and repeaters, but CraftBukkit doesn't properly detect those yet.
    • Fix for destruction of certain blocks not previously being detected and prevented: torch, redstone torch, repeater, redstone wire, sapling, crops, sugar cane.
    • Minor spelling and grammar fixes
    • Added options "territoryBlockCreepers" and "territoryBlockFireballs" to configuration file (conf.json). These both default to disabled. If enabled, they will respectively prevent creepers or ghast fireballs from destroying blocks if they explode inside faction owned territory. These can prevent griefing by way of luring creepers into another faction's territory.
      Note that both explosion types will still hurt nearby players and mobs, they just won't destroy blocks.
      Also note that "territoryBlockFireballs" only works in CB build 557 and higher, where fireball detection was added.

    To upgrade:
    Factions now use world name instead of world id for the board files.
    Nothing will be claimed when you start the server. Change the board file name(s)
    from something like 234978619762348768.json to something like world.json.

    What is the possibility of limiting this plugin per world? Our server runs three, a normal world, the nether, and a PVP no rules world. We have been considering using the third world for factions. We however have no need for it on the rest of the server.

    yes hi, i have a few questions.
    1. is there a way to limit factions to building and mining in their teritory only? not in unconquered land either. that could be really helpful. kinda like a cuboid type deal.
    2. how do i change the format of the clans in chat? they show up as white and i dont have my pretty red color!!! i want the faction color to show the friendly status, but i want the rank color to show up. i tried to look it up, but its not working.

    I have been having the same issue no matter what value I attempt to change in the conf.json file.
    It gives me an error message that people forget to post and then returns the config to default.
    Are you getting a similar message? (I really want this issue resolved along with the fact that hours of searching forums and even editing registry keys and path variables and quadruple checking everything still has me unable to allocate more than 1 gb to the server when my system has 12, what a shame.)

    Been running this for a few days now and all my members love it.

    A couple suggestions:
    -Alliance chat: Rather than /f chat only showing you and people in your specific faction, have a command to enable chat with all allied factions. My world is made up of lots of small factions, and this would be really useful.
    -Faction ranks: Allow only mods/admins to claim areas for the faction (not sure if this is already available?)

    I swear I had a few others that I was thinking about, but I've lost them now =\ Great plugin, keep up the good work!

    Alliance chat would be great. I have a suggestion as well: I'd like a feature to -- instead of claiming a safezone as a server administrator -- be able to unclaim any faction territory and prevent land from being claimed while not offering safezone or faction benefits.

    is there a way to have like a parent nation? so for example, i have a main empire, and my friend wants to branch off and create his own faction within a faction, so he is technically with me but its just a differnet faction?

    First off, I'd just like to say, that the zoning for this pisses me off really badly. I was thinking, "Oh yeah, I set 4 corners and my faction owns that, and that's it." But no, I can only have a minuscule amount of land. Also, I don't like how the admin of the ENTIRE FUCKING SERVER (me) can't set myself to the admin of a simple faction.

    Woah man, no need for such harsh language or the anger. Being offensive to the people who are trying to get things working both together and correctly is no way to try to get help with your problem. And its a bad way to make a suggestion for the plugin as well. People will see what you suggest and give it little or no attention. Maybe even see your suggestions in a negative light and form the opposite opinion. I think you should edit your post.

    You really need to give admins more power though, or give us the ability to manually add people into factions or something. Just had an issue where I tried to edit the "No Faction" faction's description, and it completely broke the plugin, making me start from scratch. Now there are people who have nothing claimed because they aren't online right now. It would be nice, as an admin, to have the power to create factions and populate them and such without the people actually being online.

    You know you have complete control over the amount of land you can claim, right? You can make the amount bigger if you want in the Config file...

    You're basically complaining about a problem that was caused by yourself, and not the plugin creator.

    Hey I'm having difficulty increasing the amount of land, removing creepers and allowing anybody to use wooden doors, the config file gets reset when I open the server - I am running latest version of java and I have CB 674 I also have permissions. Everything else works just not the config file

    Make sure the server is closed before editing the config file, otherwise it will be overwritten when you close the server and any changes you made will be lost.

    I have a couple feature requests :D

    Is there a way you can set a list of blocks that are protected by the plugin? I know things that are triggerable are listed, such as doors, furnaces and dispenses, but it would be cool if you could also have a array of blocks that are protectable by factions, and other materials are not.

    Also, you should only put one release in the download, because that's confusing as shit. Which one?

    I'd like to be able to claim that land, all at once. Not have to go all around the massive territory I chose, constantly typing in /f claim. It gets really frustrating after a while.

    Would like to check all chests on the server for any possible cheaters.
    As an administrator I can look inside chests that are locked with LWC, but faction areas block me out. Any way to bypass this protection?

    the towny format is cool, but he should support both boseconomy and iconomy. it would really help me out. but i want a basic form of towny. none of that chat and other crap that other mods have. if i want that stuff, ill get mods that actually work that out.

    plus, could you make it an option that factions cant build in the wilderness or unclaimed land? i really dont want my factions to expand outside their area of influence. thats one of my biggest issues with this plugin right now. or perhapse give us the choice of what they can and cant mine out in the wilderness. like they can cut down wood and add planks and cobble but not mine rock and precious minerals. that would make it more of a stragety based game there.
