[INACTIVE][FUN/MECH] MonsterTamer v1.0 - Personal monster pets [1060]

Discussion in 'Inactive/Unsupported Plugins' started by fullwall, Feb 20, 2011.

Yes, my server did install that plugin.
The post was made before it was fully configured.

And I suppose that you can still lose them.
And when it says /release, does it mean to shoot the Mob out, or release, lose the mob.

Need to fix the user errors in the config stating false entrys.

    Why is this plugin inactive?
  4. Offline

it keeps adding 100+ monsters to my players and crashing the server with a userfile 1MB+
Monster limit set to 1 (which lets them have 2)
    server crashes
and i have to uninstall it

    Hi Fullwall,

Thats weird? I'm glad it wasn't you that changed it. Hopefully you can get the data storage and limits in check because it is one of the really neat plugins around. As soon as I saw the Inactive tag I jumped to the end of the thread to see if you had a reason, glad to see its a mistake and it isn't going to be abandoned. Would you consider adding some mysql code ... I think it might reduce the lag that occurs when the data file grows too big.

Keeping my eye on this one in hopes of progress.

Beatkidz - that issue (adding random monsters) is fixed now. I'll have a look at the limits issue.

Full wall, have you taken a look at these?

It's probably been mentioned already, but I didn't see it specifically mentioned in the 15 pages of this thread. :)

So, I can capture various monsters and then take them to my home which has an underground complex (dungeon). I can then have the monsters wander the halls, stand and guard rooms/treasure chests, etc.... ?

If the answer is yes, then this is a great idea/concept. Get to play the "DM" in realtime.

I take it that once a monster is killed it won't respawn, the player must go and capture more, correct?

Is the /wait command not working? Or I am the only one?

The mob shoots out as if you dropped the item. You will lose the item too just as you did by dropping it. Remember (I think) that you have to drop it by slot numbers, so as said before in the first post 0 would be the first monster on the list.

Well, yes and no. No, you can't have them wander halls. If you spawn them and leave the maybe called 10m radius they will become hostile/neutral again (it's a bug perhaps, could be fixed hopefully). You can't have them guard either unless you're in that radius again. However, if you use the follow command the mobs will intentionally follow you. They will in fact attack any mob attacking you, but still doesn't serve as well as guarding. Still, if they are to be attacked while "guarding" something, they will attack back. Not sure if they'll became hostile again though...

And yes, it won't respawn if it is killed. Sadly this isn't pokemon where we can just magically heal the mobs that are fainted.

Doesn't work for me either :(

As many of the other people have experienced, mobs turn neutral/hostile when you walk away from them. Even worse, they despawn when the chunk isn't loaded. :( I hope this is fixed soon. Especially the turn-hostile bug.

Will look into the issues soon. I have no idea about the turn-hostile bug though :S.

Got it to work thank you!
  14. Can you please make the distance before captured monsters become hostile again larger or customizable?
I'm not sure whether its a glitch or not but after lets say 2 minutes or typing the follow command and then the whistle, or after i move more then 10 blocks away from any of my monsters, they become hostile again. It'd be great if you could add distance before hostile into the configurable properties file and fix the other bugs. Thanks though, great mod!

It is a bug, which is annoyingly hard to track down. Still working on it!

  17. Offline

  18. Offline

can i do it with the mob riding plugin?

Can someone try redownloading, and seeing if the mob-hostile thing works now?

Sounds like you have an error in your items list, specifically not having a itemID:catchChance.
  22. Offline

Somehow if I release a monster it attacks me. Even with befriend.
  23. Monsters still attack randomly after being released, mainly after typing /follow all.
Overall its a bit more stable.
Wait command is broken, tested on 516.
Distance before hostile feature would also be GREATLY appreciated.

    Monsters till attack when released.
  25. Offline

That amazingly makes sense now! Thank you. I think the problem is now solved.
  26. Offline

Just like all the other people, I still get attacked by my monster friends after I release them. :(

I'm thinking the bug isn't something you did, so much as something you didn't do. You probably need to check their hostility every few seconds like you did when they catch fire. But that's without me seeing the code. Also, I recommend a known bug list in the OP so you don't have to keep answering the question about the monsters attacking. Haven't tested 1.22 yet, but the updated commands look cool!
Wow, would've helped to see THAT before. xD
Here I was using /release all this time.

I do not know how to catch. "swing your arm" is not very helpful. but cool plugin. I like

    CB Build 556
    MonsterTamer Version 1.22

No idea what caused this, user just said they dropped 20 zombies and this happened.

NOTE: it DID crash the server.
