    ecoCreature 0.0.5b - PvM/E Rewards

    Description:
Based upon the stories of iMonster and CookieMonster, this nifty little plugin will allow you, the server owner to hand out more than the default, boring sets of items dropped from creatures on your server.

Apart from allowing extra drops, how about economy support through iConomy & Essentials Economy as well as BOSEconomy? But... we just forgot one, MineConomy! (it works, too!)

Did you like how iMonster treated your currency rewards without those decimals? Fully optional here!
As if that wasn't enough, reward and penalty messages, fully customizable from your end!
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Features:
    • Currencry rewards through iConomy. Messages are customizable.
    • Currency penalties, if thats your wish - with customizable messages.
    • Extra drops from all animals and monsters.
    • Prevent camping around monster spawners, fully optional.
    • Prevent rewards through the use of bow and arrow, optional with custom message.
    • Penalty for dieing, fully optional and can be set at percentage level. Custom messages.
    • Beloved donors and special members can earn more money through a simple permission switch, set in percentage gain.
    • Silent rewards, through the options. No more messages about rewards, penalties and such.
    • + more! (Read the config file for all the juicy details!)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    !!! Requirements:
    • iConomy 4.6.5
    • Permissions 2.7.2
    • CraftBukkit 740

    • * MineConomy 0.5.6 (Only required if you do not have iConomy)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Changelog:
    v0.0.5b
    • Updated for the latest stable bukkit.
    • Some features are still being worked on, in case you're wondering.
    v0.0.5a
    • Fixed messages with no colors.
    • Fixed death penalty.
    • Added FixedDrops, open your ecoCreature.yml and add FixedDrops: false right under OverrideDrops. You can set the value true or false, if true... creatures will only drop the specified amount in your loot table, otherwise when false it takes a random number between 0 and the amount you wanted. This only needs to be added if upgrading from 0.0.5 and don't want to re-generate your config.
    v0.0.5 - Lederhosen!
    • uQuest hooking, if a creature dies, it can give a random quest.
    • Spawner drops items now.
    • Dollar signs as your currency now works.
    • Updated to work with MineConomy 0.5.6
    • Flat or percentage for the death penalty.
    • Misc random stuff that didn't work should work.
    • Tested against iConomy, didn't have time for the others - but should work, report what doesn't work if thats the case.
    • THIS RELEASE IS A CONFIG-BREAKER, GENERATE A NEW ONE AND COMPARE TO YOUR OLD CONFIG, CHANGE WHERE REQUIRED!
    v0.0.4g4 - Cows with laserguns!
    • uQuest hooked, but doesn't do anything yet.
    • MineConomy support added.
    • If camping near a spawner, mobs shouldn't drop anything.
    • Minor fixes and tweaks here and there, hopefully working better and warns when not working.
    v0.0.4g3 - Crispy Milk!
    • Drops under 1% are working.
    • Added a check to see whether or not Permissions are hooked and enabled.
    • Minor fixes.
v0.0.4g2 - Maintenance overdrive, supreme drift!
    • Fixed up some permission checking.
    • Tweaked some hooks.
    • Compiled and tested with RB 670
    • Minor maintenance, no config changes required.
v0.0.4g1 - Maintenance maintenance of the maintenance extreme extreme release.... deluxe
    • Toggler for No Reward message fixed.

    • Added BOSEconomy, its back in the game.
    • PigZombie is PigZombie, and no longer Zombie :p
    • Permissions are back in, and there has been changes made.
    • Extra gains work on group-level, you'll see what I mean inside the config.
    • No Reward message can now be toggled on or off.
    • Drop overrides can also be toggled on or off.
    • Random acts of fiddling around with the code
    • You must backup, remove & let ecoCreature generate a new config with this release.
    v0.0.4f - Ohsnap
    • Default drop tables are overriden by ecoCreature, default table is added to the config. Will be optional later.
    • Fixed a serious bug, where the players inventory would be wiped upon death. (very random and not always happening - but could)
    • Specifying a drop amount for a creature will give it a random between 0 and the specified amount now.
    • Essentials Economy is again supported and seems to be working better than ever.
    • Where did all the permissions go? VIP is left in for now, everything should per default yield rewards for now.
    v0.0.4e - More

    • IntegerCurrency fixed, and working again.
    v0.0.4d - Maintenance Deluxe
    • Drops should override default creatures drops now.
    • Drops should now drop at the location of the creature which died.

It seems the error goes away if you delete the ecoCreature folder and allow the plugin to recreate the config.yml. Maybe its something to do with one of the settings in the old config.yml that is messing it up? No errors yet after doing the above stated. THANKS :D

    Nevermind.. It's back..

    Tis the error I get.

So, the error comes even after you delete the ecoCreature folder inside plugins, start it up, let it generate a new file, close it down to configure, then start it back up?

I see, I will be checking out some of these plugins.
Would it be possible for you to stop by on IRC? irc.esper.net, in the room #iConomy

uh... what is wolverine mode? XD
It's not explained anywhere as far as I can tell o.0

Also, is it possible to restrict quests from certain types of monsters/animals? I would love to make quests where you find notes in zombie's pockets, and ways to redeem one's money from killing wolves (which on our server is a 50 drake fine) by doing some sort of penance at an alter!

Anyway, I imagine this is simply a work in progress... but I figured I would ask! Absolutely amazing work so far, the attention to detail in this plugin is what makes it absolutely remarkable!

Ah, wolverine mode... doesn't work at all till wolves are less messed up, but once they work properly in bukkit, they should allow wolf kills to reward the player / owner of the wolf if he or she is online (doesn't have to be though). *magic*

Regarding the uQuest hook, I have't really begun to explore the API that much, it just throws a random quest out there, but I'm fairly certain that I can make something work for specific quests depending on what is killed :)

And thank you, for you kind words :)

Oh! Also I know I'm just nitpicking at this point... but I noticed in the new version it states the reward with a ".00" after it even when in integer mode. Not sure if you intended that or not, and it's really far from a big deal, but I'm sure those using the system would appreciate that being left out. Either way, these are small concerns that are blotted out by everything else that works and looks so great :p

Well aware of that little thing, I'll have it cleared out in the next version, just need more things to fix before pushing that ;)

    Hello,

I return to give an information which seems to me important. I forgot to specify it yesterday... Excuse me.
The previous version of ecoCreature, showed me (with the same parameter settings) this message when I approach of one mob or still when I break a block (whatever, strange not?) :

If this information can help you to resolve my problem, I would be the happiest:)

    Hi Chris,

Don't want to rush you, but have you located the problem that I probably have with permissions? Everything works fine for me, but OverrideDrops doesn't work for any other group.

I also tested FixedDrops and it works like it should, thanks!

    ChrisB

It means your permissions are not working like they should, that message only showed up if a group or member did not have any permission for killing creatures....
try to add the animals to your permissions and have a go at it again.

Still haven't located that issue, looking around for it though ;/

I'm getting a null pointer error when loading configuration, what can cause that?

Download the jar again, I just updated it slightly, then post the error here.
If you updated from 0.0.4g4, you have to delete the old config, 0.0.5+ has new variables

That error pops up if it fails to find the ecoCreature folder inside plugins, and fails if it can't find ecoCreature.yml inside that folder. Does it have write permissions to /plugins/ ?
And, did you rename ecoCreature.jar to something else?

  17. Offline

    EZSPECIAL

it's all there, no renaming. About the write permissions, the /plugins/ folder is unchecked for read-only and I'm admin of the OS

EDIT: Just tried deleting the config and using default values and it worked, ofc setting the Read, Understand to true. It's something I'm configuring wrong

    ChrisB

It shouldn't cause any problems, but if you don't want certain creatures to give rewards, don't add it to their permissions... you can add creatures individually :)

Quite my players have ecoCreature.Creature.* in their list... The pluging does not still work...

    My ecoCreature.yml :

    Code:
    # Welcome new and old user of ecoCreature!
    # ----------------------------------------
    # It is vital that you go through the configuration from start to end before you continue
    # using this plugin, to make sure that it is functioning with your server configuration.
    #
    # Remember, it is YOUR server, it is YOUR rules. You can not appease everyone.
    #
    # Now then ...
    #
    # Which economy system are you running? ecoCreature supports the following four.
    # iConomy, BOSEconomy, Essentials, MineConomy
    #
    # As an example, you have BOSE, you should change the CORE setting to Core: BOSEconomy
    #
    # IntegerCurrency set to true will round the reward to a whole number, no decimals.
    # While if it is set to false, it will give rewards with a decimal value.
    #
    # AllowCamping defaults to false, it will prevent camping around mobspawners / dungeons etc.
    # This setting is followed by CampRadius - what it does is that it prevents camping within the set
    # amount of blocks in all directions. Both can be changed to suit your needs.
    #
    # ClearCampDrops is available as an option, it will clear the creature / monster drops if set to
    # true, and if false, it will allow regular creature drops.
    #
    # OverrideDrops, if set to true... default drops will be overriden by the drops specified
    # for ecoCreature. This only applies to the player killed monsters.
    # If a monster dies by accident / fire / whatever it will default to the Minecraft default drops. Have
    # this in mind.
    #
    # BowRewards
    # If this value is set to false, there will be no gains from killing with a bow.
    #
    # PenalizeDeath should only be set to true if you want to penalize your players for dieing while hunting.
    # as it will withdraw the money they hold in their hand, and not from their banks, if they have that.
    #
    # PenalizeType, this has two values: true or false.
    # If the type is set to false, the amount will be a flat amount, a constant value of the set amount upon death.
    # If the type is set to true, the amount will be used as a percentage value and drawn from the total held currency.
    # This is so that ecoCreature knows whether you want to punish via flatrate or percent.
    #
    # PenalizeAmount - How much money should they drop, from the amount they already have?
    # This depends on what you set the type to, flat or percent (false or true).
    # An example;
    # PenalizeType: true <---- we want to punish with percentage of held money
    # PenalizeAmount: 5 <---- draw 5% of the players held money
    #
    # AllowUnderSeaLVL - Really not that useful, should in most cases be set to true.
    # What does it do? If you are under the sea level when hunting, rewards are enabled. If this is set to false,
    # you will not get rewards for kills below sea level. This applies to everything under sea level.
    #
    # Message Options!
    # ----------------
    # Output :: Should you notify the player of rewards, penalties or no rewards? Defaults to true - to notify.
    # NoReward :: If set to true, it will output a message to the player, stating he got no reward, false will not
    # output anything to the player when they get no reward.
    # Spawner :: When accidently killing around the spawn, a player can be notified of a nearby dungeon.
    # Having this option set to false will not send them the spawn/mobspawn camping message.
    #
    # Extra Hooks!
    # ------------
    # uQuest, true or false... should it be enabled or not
    # uQuestRQP, how big a chance does a player have to receive a random quest from killing a creature?
    #
    # Gains!
    # -----
    # These are per group on your server, if a player is in a group called Donors in your permissions
    # they will gain the base amount * value specified in the amount bit for the group.
    # You may freely add additional groupnames and specify your own amount here.
    # The group names must match those within your Permissions configuration, ecoCreature compares.

    # Coin_Maximum - The max amount of coins to drop.
    # !!! With a low minimum and high maximum, you will get a random amount between those values
    #
    # OH GOD, FIXED AMOUNT ... ALL THE WAY!
    # Sometimes, it would be great if the amount was fixed instead of everchanging, but how?
    # It's simple... set the MINIMUM to the same amount as MAXIMUM - and you're ready for action!
    #
    # Coin_Percent - What are the odds to receive any currency at all?
    #
    # NoReward_Message - Even if the player doesn't receive a reward, a death message can be configured.
    #
    # Reward_Message - Every creature destroyed can have its personal reward message upon death
    # - Acceptable codes:
    # - &colourcode - Check out the forum post for the colour codes!
    # - <crt> - Will display creature name
    # - <amt> - Will display the amount + currency
    # - <itm> - Will display the item you held in your hand at the time
    #
    # Penalty_Message - If you have a negative amount for a creature, this is the custom message
    # for when the player is penalized with a deduction.

Okay, I think that the problem come only from Permissions. Because in my permissions.yml we can see that the players can create shop. Now, any player can make him. My problem with ecoCreature has to be of the same origin... Of what think of it you? How could I make to settle it concerns ? My permissions.yml is badly configured?

    Awesome! :D
You always seem to have those details pinned down! I'm just about in debt in real life right now, but if I find myself some work pretty soon I will definitely donate to encourage this kind of attention! I can only hope you find others doing the same, and that from this other developers will find themselves working towards the same level of attention.

Try to rename the group V.I.P to just VIP instead, so you have no dots... I don't think dots will actually work :/

I try to pin down the details that I would like to see myself, and do the occasional adding that makes total sense :)
Speaking of that, got something else up my sleeve for later as well :p

Ah, it will allow players to use their wolves to get rewards, for instance if your pet wolf kills an animal, you are rewarded... but, wolves are messy in bukkit right now :p

    --solved--
    What's wrong with my config?
    http://pastebin.com/gqxNbVib

It doesn't load... I'll triple check it, but the server doesn't even notice it.

Yes, I reinstalled it + let the new config.yml create a new one.

    Edit:

    Installed v0.0.5a
And it does not configure me a new .yml.

    Only creates a folder

    Fixed

ecoCreatures seems to be not loading. In the console, it gives out the error:
    Code:

But under the permissions, I have these set:

Nothing happens ingame and that is the only ecoCreatures-related error I get.

Well, if you have this node ('ecoCreature.Creature.*'), you don't need any specific other node since that'd be redundant.
The whole "*" means it's wildcard, aka "all"

Also, Admin doesn't need any other node besides '*' cause that means "all commands are available"

Also, for the author: Is there a way to limit the total amount of coin a player can earn per day, and can it be linked to an iConomy account (created with /money create "account") somehow, or is it just defaulting to the player's account?

I'll consider adding a total earnings pool for the players, either have to run with path A or path B on that one, to database or not :p

    @DoctorFedora
Something is messy with your install, ecoCreature can't actually find Permissions, the plugin

    @BioRage
So everything is resolved? I'll have to look at it to see why it would not generate a config file

    Cant seem to load plugin, keep getting following error;
[ecoCreature] Please configure ecoCreature (plugins/ecoCreature.yml) before continuing. Plugin disabled.

Any ideas on what im doing wrong?

    #
    # FixedDrops
    # If you do not like your drops to be random between 0 and the amount you wanted, set FixedDrops to true
    # and the creature / spawner will drop the amount of items you specified.
    # An example;

            Understand:
                Configure: true

    # If you have now reached this point of the ecoCreature.yml file, you may of have noticed the last entry.
    # Switch the Configure: false to Configure: true
    #
    # Why? It means that you have, hopefully, read, understood as well as configured the plugin to your needs.
    # If this value is still false when you start your server, the plugin will be disabled.
    #
    # WHY!?
    # Because. It simply just explains itself. Don't even think about starting an argument about it.

Did you just reload the server after changing the config option? Try stopping and starting.
Also, you haven't renamed any of the files have you? I'll be looking into the issue myself right away
