A simple plugin.
Allows you to use colors in normal Chat, compatible with all other Chat plugins (including HeroChat, iChat, ...).
Allows you to use colors on signs.

Color Codes:

Commands:

Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler

No need to use these. You can use color codes in your text without commands.
If you dont want to type this long commands use bShortcut (works whith all plugins).

• /useColor [color-code]
  • Example: /useColor &6
• /setColor [name] [color-code]
  • Example: /useColor beecub &6 (Case sensitive)
• /clearColor
• /clearColor [name]
  • Example: /clearColor beecub (Case sensitive)
• /randomColor [text]
• /rainbowColor [text]
• /showColors
  • show available ColorCodes ingame

What bukkit version are you using?

 

Latest version 670 I belive. What ever McMyAdmin downloads lol, just updated it today. In the consol it also says this everytime someone talks.

[SEVERE] Could not pass event PLAYER_CHAT to bColoredChat

 

Any idea why it would do that ^?

EDIT: Got to say that I don´t use Permissions. I had a similar problem with another plugin, that used Permissions.

Works great now! Any idea when you will be adding in the command that lets an OP set someone elses chat color?

Also how do we get colors on signs?

 

Editet first post, use the small color codes like youre using them in the chat.
&6 test line
on the first line of your sign will change line color into orange.

seems to be broken, it says the color was set successfully but nothing changes.

 

Yeah, same here. I am running cb677 though so I didn't really expect it to work that great.

Cant this change how the console's chat looks? I don't like the purple color, I was wanting more of a red for major announcements

Awesome, thanks! I just updated to 733 yesterday... that was pretty fast

The chat function works fine, but for me the sign colors do not work. I have tried putting &5 and #5 with/without spaces in between the text I want colored. So when I put &5random, #5random, &5 random, and #5 random it still refuses to turn purple. Am I missing something?

 

It should be "&5random" or "&5 random". Works fine for me. What version of bcoloredchat are you using and what is your craftbukkit build?

 

I'm using bcoloredchat 1.9.1 and CB build 733 (although this problem has happened for me on different versions of craftbukkit with the correct version of bcoloredchat for the version). I will try again and see, is it supposed to immediately convert or do you have to wait a few seconds?

 

Hmm.. I am using whatever version was out 2 days ago (I thought it was 1.9.1) and cb733 so I have no idea... I do have to wait a second or so before it converts though..

 

Ah, maybe I am just too impatient, I will try waiting a few seconds when I type the stuff in...nope, still not working. I really have absolutely no idea what is wrong. For me the colored chat part is a bit redundant, so I will probably just switch plugins. Oh and yes I do have the proper permissions for this (just in case anyone asks).

 

I don't think it saves other peoples colors, when my friend logged out and back in his chat color was gone, anyway to save it?

Sorry, it doesn't do that, however I did find something that does: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/misc-coloredsigns-v1-1-add-colored-text-to-signs-602.9986/ It works in exactly the way your plugin is supposed to work (not sure what, or if I am doing anything wrong).

 

i think i know the problem.
are you using permissions?

 

I am using permissions, and I added both bcoloredchat.chatcolor and bcoloredchat.signcolor to the file. It just wouldn't work for me. It is easier with the other plugin, does exactly what it says it will do.

 

Ok, but i want to investigate the problem , so, could i connect to your server, test something?, i also want to give you a special version of my plugin with some dev messages.
