   showplaces

   I downloaded CraftBukkit and put it into my folder called Server. I made a txt document and pasted in code and saved it as server.bat for all files. I did not extract anything from the CraftBukkit.jar file and when I click on server.bat it opens up the command prompt and says
   

   And I press a random key and it closes. What do I do?

   You need to change your system PATH, go to minecraft wiki's tutorial on making a server to learn how to set it to java.

   I would suggest that you use my installer: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/craftbukkit-auto-installer-beginners.26555/
   It automatically creates all the right files that are required to run craftbukkit. You don't need to type any commands at all and even updates the server to the latest craftbukkit automatically
