I remember having the same problem with iConomy. I think I ended up creating a flatfile as a database, which actually seems like the logical choice to make in the first place. In case you don't know, flatfile (in this case) means that a file will be created in your iConomy-folder to work as the database. It's more portable like that too, and faster since the plugin doesn't have to make a connection to an external database.
