I am leaving spigot because they patch everything fun but is bukkit the same way?

So I kind of got annoyed how spigot would patch glitches/bugs but the ender pearl portal to was the last straw so I've watched ray works for quite awhile now and in one of his newest videos he goes to the world boarder super fast due to how ender pearls work so you make a portal on the nether roof and then throw a ender pearl in it so the pearl will to you to the over world coords but in the nether and it also works in the over world as well! So me and my friend had this all planned out but then when we threw the pearl it loaded thechunks on dynmap but didn't to us so then my friend even went in the portal (breaks the nether tp) and he could see the pearl land but nothing would happen so I have decided to become a bukkit server but will I be able to do this in bukkit?
