How do I disable color formatting in server.log?

Color formatting is useful over SSH, but it makes reading the log a pain in the ass. Is there a way to disable logging of color codes, but keeping them in the live console? Thanks in advance.

 

Add --log-strip-color to your CB start up command.
java -jar -Xmx 2G -jar craftbukkit.jar --log-strip-color

Honestly, shouldn't this be default?

 

A GUI that allowed us to view the logged console output with all of the formatting would be so useful, but since I do not know one to exist (and I don't have the time to create one myself) I might use this option to keep my server.log uncluttered for the time being. Thanks for letting us know. I'm surprised that I haven't heard of this option before.
