[Help] Connection Timed Out Etc.

Okay so I am tying to get my sister's boyfriend to get into my server again but he is getting the "connection timed out" message we are both using the same internet, I tried using ip#:25565, ip#, and localhost. I downloaded the newb friendly craftbukkit and of course I port forwarded. Please Help thanks in advanced.

 

Do you have a firewall running on you'r computer?

 

Yes, i am guessing you are suggesting that i turn that off :] would i have to access through 192.168.1.1?

 

Try to turn that off yes. and if the server is in the same house as the player you can connect with the local IP. if "192.168.1.1" is the IP for you'r computer type that.. If he's not in the same house. then goto: http://www.whatismyip.org/

and give him the IP that is there.(and tell him to not copy paste it in. it may cause some problems sometimes xD)

that's weird.. If u have port forwarded the ports and disabled you'r firewall and gave him the IP that was on that website.... idk what's wrong. you'r running the standard MC port.. so no need in typing that...

you sure you did the port forwarding correctly? to you'r computer. and does you'r computer have a dynamic or static IP?

I believe DNS i hooked it up to DNS 30 minutes ago couldn't really figure how to run static. I used a port forwarding program and my server worked yesterday and this wasn't the first time this happened I just don't want to erase this server and make a new one :[

ok.. There is not anything wrong with you'r server if u can get on it. so no need to erase it.
if you have typed you'r ip in the server.properties.. remove it.

 

ahaha did that so many times i just figured to leave that part alone ever since i received so many [Severe] warnings very strange i think i will just start a new server... better to just play than to bother something that may occur everytime ahah :] appreciated your help a lot thanks!
