Hello,

I'm trying to get my server running and i followed various guides (this one aswell)
but nothing helps.
My port keeps getting blocked
turning off firewall does nothing

 

what anti-virus software do u have?

jacklin213 you dont need the change the server-ip inless you nkow what you are doing with it.

 

Well , if u know ur internal ip , u know wat ur doing with it

 

there no need to set it.

 

If static your ip there is only one ip u can use , and you know what your doing after reading the guide so that why u add the ip in , u dont have to , but i prefer it like so

He means that if he were at his friend's house and his friend and him wanted to play on the server (away from home) would they be able to connect

I was playing on my server 2 days ago then I didn't play for one day then I got a new game tried to make a server for that ( The game was on a different port) I go back to play minecraft and I can't connect to my server unless I use localhost I've gone through heaps of forums and I've done everything, I tried on my bukkit,vanilla and tekkit server and even re downloaded them each a few times WHAT DO I DO? OR WHAT DID I DO?

 

Has your internal ip address changed?

 

I have been having a problem attempting to set up my voltz server and this seems like the most recent thread thats posting good information and helping people. I have port fowarded a minecraft server before and it worked out just fine but i recently got a new router. I have been able to get in game using local host and play by myself but whenever my friends try to join they are unable to "reach the server". They say it says the connection timed out. I used the ipfingerprints website and it sates this:

Host is up.

PORT STATE SERVICE

25565/tcp filtered minecraft

This has lead me to believe that it is a firewall problem however i have made exceptions, and even turned off my firewall and the ipfingerprint still says the same thing. I have been looking all over and can never find a complete/answered thread of my situation. Please if you could help me asap I would be very grateful!

 

Try portforwarding to port 25564 or 25566 this usually works. Then remeber to change the port in your server properties and every time you login server.ip:25564 or :25566

 

I tried this using both 25564 and 25566 and port forwarded successfully and was able to connect myself using that specific ip, however my friends are still getting the unable to connect connection timed out: connect statement. we triple checked the ip and it was correct and even tried turning the firewall off again but still no luck :/

**note** i wasnt able to connect before using the exact ip like i am now.

 

Just to clarify they are joining with your ip from http://whatsmyip.org and they are using ":25564 or :25566" after that ip right?

what are the results from portchecking those ports

and in voltz it says cant reach server reason: connect
