Possibly! I haven't made the move past 1.7.3 so I haven't had a chance to test it on 1185. I can't see any reason it wouldn't work on it though.
I'm running 1188 and I can't seem to get this to work, we just keep falling to our deaths. I have Permissions and Essentials installed would they be stopping it at all? Nice idea though, because I don't want to turn off fall damage completely.
Just tested it with 1188. Works fine for me. I don't think the plugin should be affected by anything else. Will have to look up Essentials.
You might want to check for NoCheat compatibility too. They have a new thing (nofall) that causes fall damage if it would otherwise be circumvented. I've been having trouble with SuperJump possibly conflicting with it (still working out the exact issue).

I like this idea. I would like to see an in-depth config. Something that would allow you to set the base default damage and the damage per any other block as well. Also a multiplier for falling every X amount of blocks you fall.
