    If you enjoy fighting monsters for glorious prizes or just the sheer thrill of battle, you and your friends can now join forces against hordes of Minecraft evils in the exciting gladiator-style survival mini-game MobArena!

    Heavily inspired by Deminetix' Fight-plugin, MobArena is a PvE-take on arena-gameplay, with a similar class-based system. Instead of fighting other players, you team up with them to beat oncoming waves of monsters, earning rewards in the process. MobArena can be played alone, or with as many friends as you like!

    Note: When you post a bug report, please provide a stacktrace/error from the server log/console window. Post this stacktrace in either a pastebin, a pastie, or a CODE-block! The same applies for config-files, permissions-files, etc! Please don't put them directly in your posts, as they become gigantic and annoying to read. If you don't follow this guideline, I might ignore your post!

    Troubleshooting:
    To avoid wasting not only your own time, but mine as well, I expect everyone to do some extensive troubleshooting before posting bug reports. What does this mean?

    Try MobArena on a fresh server.
    MobArena works perfectly fine when I release it. Sure, there are a few bugs, but it works. If it doesn't work for you, something is most likely wrong on your end. Set up a local test-server, and verify that MobArena works before claiming that it doesn't. When you have verified that MobArena does indeed work, you can start adding other plugins and settings until something conflicts.

    Disable other plugins.
    The first thing you need to do is disable all other plugins. If you can't reproduce the bug with other plugins disabled, you know that you have a conflicting plugin. Now perform a binary search on the other plugins, or if you don't know how to do that, just add a couple of plugins back to the plugins-folder, try to reproduce the bug, and if you can't, the conflicting plugin must be in the remaining set of plugins.

    Write down reproduction steps.
    Figure out the exact steps to reproduce/trigger the bug. I need precise steps, and as much information as possible, because there are often many things that could be going on. An example of reproduction steps could be:
    1. Type /ma join
    2. Punch the Archer class sign
    3. Wait for someone else to join
    4. Punch the iron block
    5. Type /ma leave before the other player picks a class

    Check the console window/server.log
    Make sure you check the server.log file for any MobArena errors or exceptions. If you find any, copy the ENTIRE exception (including all the lines that say "at com.garbagemule.MobArena...") and paste it (with the other information) in a CODE-tag here in the thread.

    Version 0.94.3.24
    • Updated for CB 1337.
    • The repair-delay node is now unused! The reason for this is that it is now possible (with the release of 1317) to cancel block damage in explosions, and still retain the animation and sound! This also means that arenas should be fully pistons-compatible (for arenas that don't use soft-restore or force-restore)! I'm hoping to see some screenshots and videos of shifting arenas! :)
    • You can now right-click signs in the lobby! I finally found a super easy solution to the improperly updating inventory issue with right-clicking class signs. The result is that players can now left- or right-click as they please. This should solve all issues related to players not being able to choose classes, due to spawn region and WorldGuard/Factions/whatever conflicts.
    • It is no longer possible to warp out of the lobby.
    • New per-arena setting: final-wave - Allows for setting a final wave, meaning on that wave, the arena will end, regardless of how many players are alive.

    • v0.94.3.11 - Updated Register, built against CB 1240.

    • Added the three new mob types, Enderman/Endermen, CaveSpider/CaveSpiders, Silverfish. They can be used just like the other mob types in the waves.

    • Fixed an issue where players somehow warping/cheating out of the arena world get kicked from the server when discovered.
    • Added MagicSpells support. Use the magicspells.yml file to ban certain spells from the arena either for the whole session, or only during boss waves.
    • Fixed the Heroes death conflict. MobArena and Heroes should now play nice together. Further Heroes support is planned for upcoming releases.
    • [COLOR=#1000000]MobArena will no longer support the discontinued Permissions 2.x and 3.x permission systems.[/COLOR] Recommended permissions systems include PermissionsBukkit (defacto standard) or PermissionsEX.

    • Added two new boss abilities: 'shuffle-positions' and 'flood'. Try them out!
    • Players disconnecting/crashing during an arena session no longer get corrupted data files due to economy rewards.
    • Weapon durability is now correctly set to "unlimited".
    • Item sub-types (cocoa beans, bonemeal, colored wool, etc.) now work again.
    • Players can no longer join the arena without first picking a class.
    • MobArena now works with spawn-monsters=false again.
    Version 0.94 (open)

    • Completely revamped the waves system! Undeniably the biggest feature in MobArena since multiple arenas in v0.92, the new customizable waves are guaranteed to bring much more awesomeness to your MobArenas. The waves system brings two new wave types, swarm waves and boss waves. The latter is a very elaborate feature, and the whole waves system has been given its own page on the Wiki. Note: MobArena will ignore all old wave settings, but use sane defaults.
    • Revamped the logging system. Instead of logging: true, you can now use logging: yml/xml. The logging system will now keep track of the last session only, but also maintain a collection of 'totals' for each arena. The idea behind these easy-to-parse files is making the stats available on server web pages.
    • Added SuperPerms/PermissionsBukkit support. Note that specifying mobarena.arenas.* and mobarena.classes.* probably won't work, but these nodes are given to everyone by default.
    • Added Spout support. Currently, the only Spouty thing MobArena does is print (some) announcements as notifications/achievements. This should limit the amount of "chat spam" that MobArena produces. Other Spout-features are planned, but don't expect something crazy. Note that MobArena does NOT require Spout!
    • Monsters will no longer target pet wolves. This is a major nerf to pet classes, but they were very overpowered as it was.
    • Fixed item amounts greater than 64 sometimes bugging out. You should now be able to put arrow:1024 for your Archer classes :)
    • Fixed players losing their stored items and/or earned rewards upon disconnecting from the arena.
    • Fixed blocks not restoring when burned by fire.
    • Fixed an issue with entry fees. They should no longer cause any problems.
    • Fixed slimes. That's right! Slimes that spawn as a result of bigger slimes splitting upon death are now considered arena monsters. This also means that Slimes no longer drop slime balls; as intended.
    • Revamped the repairing algorithm. It is now MUCH more sophisticated, and is capable of repairing not only signs and containers, but also torches, doors and beds. Redstone -should- repair properly as well, but it is still slightly buggy.
    • Added support for restorable containers. Registered chests, dispensers, and furnaces will have their contents stored upon arena start, and restored at arena end. This is useful for providing the arena players with chests with e.g. upgrades or food.
    • Added new commands (for the feature above) - /ma addcontainer <name>, /ma delcontainer <name>, /ma containers. These commands work much like the the spawnpoint commands. To add a container, simply look at the container and type /ma addcontainer <name>.

    Whatever you did in 93 fixed the wolf xp thing, I have yet to update to the cb 1000 version but I'm gonna guess it will still work. Awesome plugin thnx!

    But 1 lil problem when my players do /ma join en choose a class and click iron block they inmidently enter the arena? even if there still a few not ready ? how is that posseble?

    Even after updating and using both of your links for the download, twice each, my server tells me a new version of MA is available when im clearly using the one you have linked, any idea? Havent actually tried it yet.

    Minior issue found: Ghats that make fire on leafs do not clean up that fire. Not a big thing for me.

    Any way we could have a spider jokey wave? :p

    //EDIT: Alright, me and a user on my server did some trial and error testing, narrowed it down. The conflict that causes regular monsters to spawn on grass Arenas is from the plugin NoSpawn.

    This is on a NoSpawn world with absolutely NO monster spawns at all. Adding everything to a Grass Blacklist did not work either. Once your arena is joined, passives and mobs not defined in the arena .config start spawning and count as outside mobs (they drop stuff).

    No errors from either plugin show up, so I can't help. I'll let the other guy no - if either of you wants to look at it, and maybe patch it, that'd be swell. If not, I'll try some other no spawn plugins.

    Just thought I'd let you know, if you want to add it to your first post as Conflicting Plugins or such!

    If spectator room placed in arena zone,ppls cant join 'during the battle'
    Could you add smth like 'warp spectator:true/false'?

    And after 'cant warp' message arena start saying about arena 'player died' 'wave #8' etc
    And may be you could add arena bans?
    I dont like to ban players from server
    But arena glitchers...

    Arrgh
    I cant make any class with block >_>

    Loving the arena plugin, messed with it in 1.6 times and had some major fun. Now with 1.7.3, looking forward to re-adding it. Personally spent a good amount of time, making our arena + storage area kinda different. Might do some different design, after I let people take a look at it.

    Thought I'd let you know I love the plugin, and found it just from being an updated plugin. Might consider showing off the arena and storage. Given that we don't need some drastic changes. :p

    Also is there an issue, with going over the default size of arena? Aside from mobs not getting a clear view of you. :eek:

    Doesn't seem to be. I have some larger arenas in works, and the only issue is mobs don't aggro that far. But depending how you have it set up, it shouldn't be a huge issue.

    this mod is great, it 's been working fine for the last couple of days since i installed.
    but after i updated my server and minecraft client, everytim i type a /ma command it comes up with unknown console error. press "help" .
    please help me fix this issue

    Hey uhm, we're on 93.2, but when I download and replace the old jar (93.1) while the server is off, then reboot, it still says 93.1 and ingame says update available.. Help?

    We have played all the night and had no problems.
    The only thing I have seen is that I had to redefine the arena area after having reloaded the configuration (With /ma config reload). But I don't know if it's a bug or something that is normal. Anyway, it's not to difficult to reuse a few commands to "rebuilt" it. ;)

    Something else... Is the fire supposed to spread and burn trees and fences inside the arena if it is protected ?

    I will post screenshot of our arena on the sharing thread. :)

    I will respond to all your posts when I get home from work, but as darkwarriors says, the current download link is for v0.93.1 - I apologize for this inconvenience, and will get it fixed ASAP. It seems git messed up with the updates (I'm having so many branch problems with it >_>). The link should be updated in about 2-3 hours.

    You can set a entry-fee aswell as a reward (For the reward, use $<amount> instead of <itemid>:<amount>)
    For the fee there is a part in the config ;)

    the onyl plugin that can block creeper esplosion that i have installed is WorldGuard, all others plugins is in a separate world.. i have try with region priority, flat creeper-explosion: allow but all the same creeper didnt made any damage, any others idea?

    mob arena is in a separate world in a full protected worldguard area.

    The correct version v0.93.2 has now been pushed. I advise everyone to download and install it ASAP. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience, and hope that you can all forgive me :3

    @awstnurcl3 - You're supposed to type /ma setregion p1. Remember the forward slash. If the commands still don't work, the server log/window will have a stacktrace that you can copy and paste in here (in a CODE-block, please).

    @SwedeMontages - Very nice-looking arena! I really like the foyer'esque look of it :) If you want to charge players economy units for entering, simply specify an entry-fee. Read the Wiki on how to do that :)

    @Legolas75893 - Haha, yes, sort of :)

    @lipe123 - If the taming experience issue is fixed, hallelujah! I think I know what the issue was, then, and if I'm right, it is indeed a major bug in the mcMMO code. Thanks for the good luck ^___^

    @Siruz - I think it was a problem in my restructuring (you know how it is when you rearrange a bunch of stuff - you always forget something). It should be fixed in v0.93.2 - Please let me know if the problem persists :)

    @KrazyBonez - Hopefully the -real- v0.93.2 won't cause that problem :)

    @Delois - I will admit I haven't actually looked into fire spread and fire cleanup yet! I will at some point, though :) As for Spider Jockeys - don't count on it. They are extremely jerky in movement, and very disappointing to encounter (I have tried a couple of times). I might add them as a very rare special wave - just to keep the spirit of them intact ;)

    @DevRW - Per-arena announcements is definitely possible. Admittedly, I feel there are other features and bugs that are more important, however, so don't hold your breath (yet). Currently busy trying to figure out the best way to implement Battlegrounds, and still pondering the idea of merging it with MobArena or making it a separate plugin. Glad you found the NoSpawn bug. I might be able to fix the animal thing, but it'll require a special build. I'll keep you updated.

    @columb - First of all: PLEASE edit your posts instead of double-, triple- and quadruple-posting :( Waves will more customizable in v1.0. The spectator bug, I will look into. There are many anti-camper features in MobArena. Try them out.

    @BlueChoco - Glad you're considering revisiting MobArena. What made you ditch it in 1.6? You can make the arena as big as you want, but try to make sure to have spawnpoints with no more than 30 blocks between them, because if there are no players in range of any spawnpoints, the monsters will just spawn at random spawnpoints (possibly unable to reach/target the players). I recommend having so many spawnpoints that it is impossible to stand anywhere in the arena and not be in a 16-block range from a spawnpoint. Look at Delois' video; he puts a golden block on every spawnpoint. This could be very useful in the construction phase :)

    @xThiieNx - Please provide me with a stacktrace from the server log/console. I can't help you otherwise.

    @Sayshal - Please re-download MobArena now. The link as been updated :)

    @darkwarriors - Thanks for the notification; the link has been updated :)

    @Tuttu - I haven't looked into fire yet, so I can't tell you if it's supposed to spread or not, sorry ;) Glad you're still enjoying MobArena! I haven't been able to reproduce the bug where you have to redefine the arena region. Are you absolutely sure of this? Did you check the config-file to see if the coordinates had been reset?

    @xkingxdreadx - Like niugnip says, iConomy support is already here. Read the changelog and the Wiki :)

    @niugnip - Thanks for helping out with answering questions :) Just notifying you so you can update to v0.93.2

    @Agnate - Not so rubber ducky anymore, are you?! ;) Thanks for the tip. I haven't added your fix, but I did clean up playerReady (I was comparing lobbyPlayers to readyPlayers, rather than the other way around; I also changed .equals to .containsAll). IRC! :3

    @Thanatos - You should probably redo the setup process :confused:

    Hey, your plugin is epic! Love it to battle against monster.

    But i have one problem. I have GiantMonster plugin installed and i just wanted to try out setting giant in config to 1.
    after that i switched it back to 0, but giant monster spawning again in my arena.

    I´m NOT using the newest version. Shell i try?

    PS: oh, i´ve set my lobby totaly near my arena. and the signs for the classes @ the arena stones.
    i´m not quite sure but i think those damn creepers blown off all signs :-D
    i thought arena is getting set back after fight, or belongs lobby not to arena?

    @darkwarriors - Hah! Glad you found your bug! You've earned either a facepalm or a headdesk, your choice! ;)

    @mahari3 - Looks like there's something wrong with your Permissions files. Your errors don't have anything to do with MobArena :)

    @zippolino - Please use the newest version at all times if at all possible. If you don't, you miss out on features and bugfixes. The arena is restored after the fight only if you have soft-restore: true or force-restore: true. If you set repair-delay: 0, your signs will not explode. Greater than 0, and your signs will not get repaired properly, unfortunately :(

    No problem for the fire. Now that I know it can spread, I will use it carefully. ;)
    Regarding the arena region, never mind. I didn't know that the arena coordinates are written in the config-file and I have overwrited it with a new one. So it's probably why I haven lost all the data. I will be more carefull with the next update, thanks. :)

    Just another question : can we spawn mobs like cow or pig during waves ? So we can have fresh meat in we comes out of stock. :p

    @awstnurcl3 - If it says "Unknown command" and "type help" or whatever, it means MobArena isn't loaded properly. Do you get any exceptions/errors and stacktraces in the server console window? I can't help you if you can't help me help you :)
