[FUN/MECH] Armor Abilities - Get Abilities For Wearing Different Types Of Armor! [1.4+]

Some permissions did change actually.... that COULD be it be somehow it seems doubtful. Everything is still automatic as it was before but it seems people are having issues with this version. It works perfectly for me and I have no idea what could be wrong for some people. Try changing the permissions to the new ones maybe? But all are set to default anyway so.... hmmm

Thats also weird.... so if you apply the jump effect and type /ability details nothing will print until you jump?

What do you mean it won't work? If you are OP you must assign your own ability. Is this what you mean?

 

No. No errors.

 

Still no idea. I need more information to solve the issue because everything works fine on my server and I'm using the latest file. I tried as an OP and then as a default and both work as they should with no errors...

Are you an operator? If you are you need to assign your own abilities with /ability set [abilityname]
If you want to use the abilities as everyone else does just remove the permission armorabilities.setown from yourself. Hope this helps

 

So if your OP you have to assign your own ability at all times? Can you make it so OPS are just default with the normal abilities except they have the option to change the ability. I play as OP on my own server..

 

Can you make it cost money or XP points per ability?

 

I may be able to add this feature in the future but for now I have to see why this plugin works fine for some people and not at all for others.

I was actually annoyed with the way this works as well so I get what you mean. It was just a quick temporary fix to letting operators assign their own. I will try to have a better way to do this in the next update and add a command like "/ability reset" to go back to armor defaults. Thanks for the feedback!

It probably doesnt worj with some people becuase they are using a outdated bukkit build.

 

I hope thats it.... That would make my life a lot easier.

For anyone having the problem of the plugin saying they are not wearing a full suit of armor when they really are I found the bug in my code. The variable was being shared between all players on the server so it would be constantly changing for each player. No worries though. I will try to have an update out soon with these three new things.

• Fix for the error "Could Not Set Ability. Not Wearing Full Suit"
• Add feature for OPs to not HAVE to set own armor ( but they will be able to in a much user friendly way )
• Add a few more abilities to the list.

Just finished coding "Spider" ability. Works great! You guys are gonna love this update.

I really like your plugin but I cannot use it on my server because of a major bug. When swapping armor sets if you don't exit your inventory screen while doing it you retain the buff of the previous armor set as well as gaining the buff from the new armor set.

 

I believe this was fixed in 2.1 but please let me know if I am wrong.

 

Honestly I really liked this plugin before, but it seems like your adding TO MUCH. I liked the idea of having a simple plugin with a couple perms that gave armor abilities. I removed after 1.3 because it was getting a little confusing/not working correctly.

It was not working because of a shared variable bug. 2.1 works fine. I'm sorry you feel that way but the majority of people like the newer version and I do too. If you want the original partial abilities with only 5 abilities I can recompile version 1.1 with the latest build for you.

I just tried the new version, still getting the same armor swap bug where you retain the previous armors buff. I am also getting a bug with spider where it clears all the blocks vertically if you run into the ceiling.

 

Yes I know the spider ability in 2.1 was a beta. I have fixed all bugs regarding the spider ability in the dev build I am working on. I am also working on fixing that bug retaining the ability. stay tuned.

for the scuba, is it possible to make the "Breathe Under-Water" configurable? I'm thinking along the line of me being able to choose rather i want the ability to allow players unlimited breathing, or just extending breathing, just a thought. love the plugin btw, keep up the great work.

You can see the spider ability showcase on the front page too if you are interested. The newest version should be approved within a few hours hopefully. It fixes a lot of needed things

 

Just tested it, the speed buff and jump buff still stack onto other armor sets (I put speed on leather and jump on gold).

 

What exactly did you do to create this? I have not been able to replicate this error with 2.1.5.

 

I haven't been able to recreate the bug although there is a bug with the spider ability. Build a 3x3x3 structure (any block) stand in the center and remove the block directly below you then block jump so you are standing on top of the 3x3x3 structure again. Sometimes when doing this the block is removed client side and your screen jumps up and down, the hole and glitched area will stay there until you place another block (other players only see you standing there).
