[FUN/INFO/RPG] mmoTarget v1.2 - Visible target display [Spout] [1185]

    Old versions are all on there - go to http://code.google.com/p/mmo-minecraft/source/browse/ and drill down through trunk/ to the file you're interested in, then click on it. Once there you can click on All Versions, and then get the older versions from that...

    Current versions are correct - the various mmo* plugins don't have matching version numbers - they'll get further apart over time depending how much gets done on them.

    everything is loaded nicely but when i hit mob i dont see any health bar or something like that

    You do have the latest Spout Dev (client and server) installed? It does rely on that to display anything client side.

    SpoutCraft (the client) had several hours of not being able to display it yesterday (there was a problem with the build process), but has since been updated and it all works again.

    @Rycochet - ConcurrentModificationExceptions are not just caused by threading. They are also caused by changing a collection while iterating over it. For example, if I iterate over a list (for loop) and delete an element from it within the loop, I will get a ConcurrentModificationException. There are various ways to fix this (synchronising access, modifying your current access,using ConcurrentHashMap for maps (slower)).

    I tried with using Iterators - same problem, then with ConcurrentHashMaps - which just wouldn't work at all (haven't got a clue why), so just pushed it all into synchornized stuff...

    It would probably be easier if I ever saw it on my test box, but for some reason I never had...

    If it still turns up for people then I'll make a deferred removal list for it to clear out occasionally instead.

    The targeting UI overlaps into my party leader UI. Anyway of spreading them apart? I mean my sn is only 9 characters long, that seems like the average.

    I'm in the process of rewriting the UI code, the health and armor bars are going to be half the width, so it will take up less space...

    Eventually I'll allow the various elements to be moved around the screen - but for now it's got to wait and just hope things get smaller ;-)

    Going to be a little while longer before I get the UI changes finished, possibly tonight, probably tomorrow morning (it's 9pm here now).

    i like this but i think you should ass some extra range to how far you can target so it works if your using a bow. :D

    I need to rebuild for the new RB - got some other changes pending but waiting for some Spout fixes to get out too...

    Basically how CB handles bows changed - so had the code ready since before this RB - just didn't realise there would be a new release this soon...


    Eventually went with cloning the hashmap and modifying that instead - hopefully that fixes the thing (finally!)

    Graphical bars will be coming soon - finally tracked down the finaly Spout bug that was affecting it... Will still mean Dev builds (and something went wrong with the Spout build system when that was found, so been failing once a minute for hours, and increasing the build number every time lol)

    well i think its soon time for you guys make a all in one mcmmo pack :p love your plugins . you shud make a background for both target and party, and a possibility to toggle it on and of like zansminimap

    I've been doing UI layout stuff for Spout - there's a screenshot on the end of the mmoParty thread for it. Also been helping @nossr50 with some pointers for gradients so he's got texture-less bars coming out soon... ;-)

    Mine need some more intensive layout options that aren't in Spout itself yet, so even when done I have to hold off until they're approved... Automatic layout is a pain to get right ;-)

    Feature request: I use the heroes RPG system and have HPs way above normal limits of minecraft interfaces. Much like I think you were talking about with the giants above. As in, I've got some of my players with HPs into the 400s already. I as just wondering if it would support that kind of health range or if it might be possible to do a graphical bar based on a % of health, or even just a % health number showing? Just some ideas for you to toy with. thanks!

    I've got a tiny update locally to not try to show anything over 20 - I'd like to do a % health for it, but there's no way to know the maxHealth of any entity... I could put in a function to use the values from the wiki, and give a hook for other plugins to use, but it'd not be very much use for plugins that don't know the max health...

    Currently (as everyone sees) creatures get a partially empty bar even when at full health...

    I might make it part of mmoCore options for the default health values - just that there's no way to deal with changing max health without an interface...

    Could I ask if your plugin uses any widgets and if so what is the exactly name of your plugin so I can get it in PluginManager?

    Works perfectly just now I had trouble a few sec ago... :(
    I forgot to update my spout User Client. :p

    I also like to say that when hitting a creeper it shows up but when it explode the target hp and name doesn't go away and if you could add a size option in the config that would be great.

    2. Spout User Client (You or players)
    3. CraftBukkit 1060 (craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT)
    4. mmoCore (mmoTraget needs that plugin)
    5. mmoTarget (Is it up to date?)
    I had to go through all of those till Spout User Client last. :'(

    The text version just uses GenericLabel, the bars in it are the | symbol (Minecraft uses a funky font that makes it look like two bars). My graphical version uses GenericContainer (the fixed version not in Spout yet), GenericTexture, GenericGradient and GenericLabel - I'm still trying to decide on the name of the class, but looks like I might settle on "LivingEntityBar"... My internal API for it is still changing though ;-)

    New versions out.

    I'm moving development over to Github, which means the old download / auto-update locations have changed.

    Current versions require the latest cutting-edge DEV BUILD of Spout (client and server) - last bugfix required by this was added a matter of hours ago.

    Releases will speed up again now some required abilities are in Spout :-P
