Hello, its me... again... I just can't seem to figure out the mess that is my server right now. Everything was fine and dandy until I attempted to update to the latest RB. Thats when spout essentials broke, and a whole bunch of other stuff, so I decided to downgrade. Except now, I get about 10 minutes of run time before I hit this:
    Code:
14:04:51 [SEVERE] net.minecraft.server.WorldConlictException: Failed to check session lock, aborting
    14:04:51 [SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.WorldNBTStorage.checkSession(WorldNBTStorage.java:74)

Not sure what is causing it, have looked around but have seen several threads about corrupted worlds. Mine works fine for the first few minutes though. This error crashes clients, but the terminal window continues to run and respond like nothing is wrong. Here's a list of plugins:

    Code:
Plugins (21): World Portal, WorldBorder, No_Grief Spy, No_Grief, PlgSetspawn, NGlogger, PermissionsBukkit, Spout, BOSEconomy, Vault, Multiverse-Core, NoCheat, MoneyDrop, SimpleRestart, ExpBank, WorldEdit, ProperTime, CreativeControl, CommandBook, ChestShop, SpoutEssentials
I will try to remove a few of the problem plugins and report back. Thanks for any help!

Update: It is not the plugins, I tried to run our world as a vanilla server with the same results. I also saw somewhere that Chunkster could help, so I tried that, but it stopped at saying "Starting scan..." and then ended.

Edit: Update #2: I updated to the latest RB and removed offending plugins that broke in the update. This is the newer error, similar but slightly different. Same result, client is eventually kicked with a "read timed out" error.

Same! I'm getting the exact same error: the "Failed to query stty columnsjava" one is the only one I see at the moment. It only happens when a player quits. Is it a problem with Craftbukkit 1.2.5 R2.0?

  5. I also got this error today :(

Sorry for the strange post, but when I copy and paste from above its causing the forum to act up.

jline maybe masking the underlying error. Try disabling jline and see if we get a real exemption message. To do that, in your shell script you use to start the server, add --nojline after craftbukkit.jar.

    As an example
    java -xmx1G -jar craftbukkit.jar --nojline

This ended up being a problem with our computer, not bukkit or it's plugins. Our mac was having issues and they brought it in and cleaned up the HD somehow, and now it runs fine and that error doesn't occur.

Found this post through Google as I had the same problem - but I found a solution:

I'd copied a 'world' folder over from one server to another (in preparation for moving the entire server). From that point on, whenever I tried to start the new server up, I got:

    Code:
java.lang.RuntimeException: Failed to check session lock, aborting
            at aeb.h(SourceFile:49)
            at aeb.<init>(SourceFile:35)
            at adx.<init>(SourceFile:16)
            at ady.a(SourceFile:78)
            at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.a(SourceFile:147)
            at ft.b(SourceFile:153)
            at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(SourceFile:291)
            at ep.run(SourceFile:539)

My solution: In the 'world' folder I copied over, there is a file called 'session.lock'. Removing this lock allowed the server to start up as normal.
Hope this works for everyone else!
