Essentials or Nexus?

I heard someone claiming that Essentials was "bloated as hell," and they recommended Nexus.

Looking at the two, the filesize on Nexus is MUCH smaller than that of Essentials, although I don't know if it'll translate to less lag on my server. Most of the commands associated with Essentials are useless (why is there an economy feature when almost everyone uses a separate economy plugin?), but I don't know if Nexus has everything I could possibly need.


Has anyone who has used the two any input on which I should use?
