This is the problem I'm having when editing the config.yml for essentials.

When editing the word "none" in anyway and enabling the custom essentials join message, the message will only appear to admin, owner, or op. (lines 384 - 386)

The strange thing to me, is that when I edit the "none" to enable custom leave messages, it works flawless for all to see. (lines 388-390)

There are no visible errors in the console when this happens. It seems to have something to do with a permission since I can see it but the players can't. But I have no clue why the leave would work and not the join. Just to clarify, if I change them both, everyone under the rank of admin can only see people leave (custom leave message) but not join (custom join set but nothing showing at all). Currently, I have both custom messages disabled and set to bukkit default so there isn't any confusion among the players.

Plugins I'm running: ChairStairs, GroupManager, ChatFilter, WorldEdit, Buycraft, SimpleAutoAnnouncer, Vault, Multiverse-Core, WhoPlacedIt, VoteRoulette, AntiXRay, TreasureChest, Lockette, GriefPrevention, Votifier, mcMMO, MobArena, Essentials, EssentialsProtect, EssentialsSpawn, Multiverse-NetherPortals, EssentialsAntiBuild, CompatNoCheatPlus, ChestShop, EssentialsChat, NoCheatPlus

I've uploaded the config file for you to look at yourself.

And here is the globalgroups and world groups files from GroupManager to check perms.

Thanks for you time and help.

Uploaded it where? You didn't post the link if you did. Also, if you think it is permission-related, you should post the permission file as well.

Updated and added file links LHammonds. My bad, thought if they were uploaded as thread attachments they would display on their own.
