    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

    I got a suggestion:
What about adding seeds? Like, if I want to make a world using the seed 404 (the sinkhole seed ;P)?

    /mvcreate {WORLDNAME} {ENVIRONMENT} [SEED]

    :)

Sure thing! Would you mind giving me (itssnowing) build rights/ full multiverse permissions?

Edit: Not necessarily full multiverse. It's just easier to test that way :B

    cengbrecht

You will have build rights and portal usage, creation shouldnt be an issue, but please play fair, :p

  11. Hey, just starting to use this plugin on my server .. a couple of questions:

    - Is it possible to use other sizes then the standard portal ones ? (need wider then 2 portal blocks)
    - Is it possible to use other materials for the edges ? I rly don't like obsidian :(

  12. Offline

    cengbrecht

You technically dont even need a portal at all.

  13. Offline

    Itssnowing

Oh yes. You can have a 3x3 portal if you want, or you can have a 120x 16 portal.

You can make it out of anything you want- All you really need is two blocks. Right click one block, left click anther, type the command (/mvpc -Portalname- -p: or w:- -Destination-) and there you go.
If you don't have any idea WTF I'm talking about, I can show you some time. Just give me your IP, and give me multiverse permissions.

  14. It's okay, i did succesfully create a portal with the wooden pickaxe already :) just never occured to me to well not use a real portal ... (silly mee :D)

    Thanks for the offer though!

Yes, but building such a portal will be a bit more work. For example, you can't place the actual portal blocks even if you get them in your inventory, because the game will just notice that it's "incomplete" and remove it. I would recommend WorldEdit for this sort of thing.

It didnt do it on the nether world that my friends and I created, or the other worlds?

  17. I used "flowing water" instead of the standard portal and it works fine :) And well water is something else I guess for once :) .. also Im planning on using lava to go through for my portal to the halls of hell and damnation itself

I tried it moments before posting that. Placing one portal block works fine, but place another beside it and both break.

By "portal block", I mean the purple stuff that forms the inside of the portal, just in case that was unclear.

Ahhh, that makes sense, didnt try that with the latest. (if you have updated since this remark.)

I think it has been true for awhile, but I have no proof of that.

  23. Yep, I understand how it works (I'm a programmer myself ;)). I'd like more control over it is all. Rather than a random or fudged location using pits and such, I'd rather be able to define a spot for the portal drop.

I've posted it as a feature request. I just hope it gets added.

What you could do is take a block, place it above the area you want the person to land (3 blocks up.) left click on it, right click on it, and make a portal there. Delete the block, and have that be the teleport location. Hopefully, you should teleport right below it.

Not quite what you wanted, but you know :B

Hi I was using the NetherGate plugin however it doesn't work with essentials so I'm looking to use this one. However I already have a nether world but I want to be able to access it though portals and such how would I do that with this plugin. Thanks

Look in the folder that your server is located. In there, figure out what the name of the nether world created by NetherGate is. Let's say it's Netherworld, for now. So in minecraft (logged into the server, obviously.) type /mvimport Netherworld Nether

Then you'll want to make a portal, take a pickaxe, hit the corners, yada yada, and type /mvpc Netherportal w:Netherworld
This will make the portal take you to the world Netherworld. Once there, build another portal, hit the corners, and type /mvpc Overworld p:Netherportal
    Then /mvps Netherportal
    then /mvpd p:Overworld

The command /mvimport will take a world from your minecraft server folder and add it to minecraft. the format is like so: /mvimport -worldname- -portal type-
Portal type can be Nether or Normal.

The command /mvpc will take the currently selected area and turn it into a portal. It doesn't need to be in the shape of a Singleplayer portal, it can be any size you want, with any dimensions. (However, I'm not so sure it supports 3D portals.)
    The format for this is:
/mvpc -portal name- -p: or w:- -portal or world name-
"p:" says if it's a portal, while as "w:" says if it's a world. Not including this will make the command not work.

    /mvps selects a portal. Format:
    /mvps -portalname-

/mvpd changed the selected portal's destination. Format:
/mvpd -p: or w:- -portal or world name-

If this doesn't make sense, just say so!
(You can read these commands in the first post, actually >.>)

What are the chances this will update with the newest version soon? I am guessing it doesn't work since it was a game-changer for many plugins?
