    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More​

    Description
    Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

    Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    People can't log into my 1060 Bukkit Server!:
    Are you using spout? If so, you need to upgrade it to a dev version or disable it until those guys release a 1060 compatible version.

    How do I know if I'm running CB XXXX or higher?:
    Type /version. The number here is your CB version:
    This server is running Craftbukkit version git-Bukkit-0.0.0-980-g4ed23b1-b1060jnks (MC: 1.7.3)

    Thanks. I got it working by changing a lot of stuff.

    - Upgrading and running my old config - would freeze loading my main world (1.8 world). 17. world named "world" loads fine.
    - Generated new worlds.yml and tried importing worlds, it would freeze trying to import my main world
    - New worlds.yml again, renamed world to oldworld, renamed newworld to world. Ran it and world loaded fine. Imported oldworld, creative, and survival maps and all worked fine.

    There are still some glitches like mv tp not really working, but at least server loads now. Have some footwork to do making sure everything is actually in place to WORK, including stuff like regios where there are lots of world-dependent things.

    I'll report back on my progress and if it continues to work. Last time it worked for a bit and then failed so I'm not gonna hold my breath just yet, but I'm happy to have it up and running.

    EDIT: I meant worlds.yml not configs. I'm running my old config still.

    Just listing one bug I came across fernferret. If you import any worlds or create new ones, the screen still tells you that you haven't yet. It's minor but just a glitch so far. Also since your fix, the console isn't flooding like mad full of java errors like last night.

    Is there any way to block a command on a specific world? Since I'm having a bit of trouble with glitchers taking items from the creative world.

    MultiInv doesn't prevent it.

    They go into the creative world, take a couple of diamonds, then join the MobArena, leave it and then go through the portals with the items. And multiinv doesn't prevent it.

    So all I need is something to block /ma join in that world

    @Viperdream does multiinv work properly if they dont go to the mob arena first?

    Ive recently switched to World Inventories as the author is very active, multiinv author said to use it since hes too busy to maintain it at the moment. It does have a converter as well to get you from multiinv to world inventories.

    No, If you read a few posts up, some people are going to try and port the skylands generator, but isn't the type of thing Multiverse does.

    I have a problem. I've been looking for a multiple world plugin and found this one. I imagine its because Im using dev builds but I cannot import my worlds. I have an old 1.8 world which I wanted to create a portal to buy I get internal server error after it tries to import any world. Any help please?

    EDIT: If I do the command from the console it gives me about 60 lines of serve java errors but once after the errors it said complete. Even when It said complete I was still unable to do anything with the world. I am running multiverse 553 dev build and 1503 bukkit I believe.

    I also get this error when loading up my server:
    12:47 PM [SEVERE] Error occurred while enabling Multiverse-Core v2.2-b338 (Is it up to date?): java.lang.String cannot be cast to java.util.Map

    This is a psudo-client side bug. I've been told your XP doesn't go away, the client just thinks it does. Will look into this weekend.

    There is no more skylands. Blame/Get Angry/Rage at Notch. He removed the code. I've already heard that there are generators out.

    I've finally gotten around to implementing the #1 requested feature by new users, and unfortunately for most of you this will never apply :(

    Oh also, now you can't unload default worlds. You shouldn't be able to regardless, the Minecraft server gets unhappy. Very unhappy.

    @fernferret Thanks for implimenting that! :D Very nice.
    Also, just wanted to throw this out there, you probably already fixed it, but when I boot the server up, it says it "found an unsafe spawn area" The spawn area is very safe, and when it says that it hangs for about 5 minutes before unfreezing.

    @fernferret Hey, do you have a list of chat plugins that still work with the multiverse world names/colors? I'm using PermissionsEx which comes with its own ChatManager plugin but when I use world as a variable there it only shows the datafile name, and no colors. I really miss having colored world names with multiverse...

    Yep. This is fixed in the 2.2 dev builds. I posted a "status till 2.2 completion" a few posts back.

    I actually put a pull request into that but I got turned down by the dev :( It's still on github.

    However, @krinsdeath is awesome and has written ChatSuite. This is what we use on our server. You can even find a sample config (ours) on the MV Wiki. I will say that it's very versatile and that also makes it complex to setup. But when you start with a config that's close it's not bad :)

    The only warning, is that I've been going around and breaking lots of things that use MV, so we'll have to make sure that ChatSuite is updated, but I know even if @krinsdeath is busy, @lithium3141 and I will ensure that it gets updated.

    Our permissions isn't working. We have two permission.yml files, one for the PVP world and one for the Creative world. They each have their own groups and each groups has their own permission, but when someone from the PVP world joins the Creative, the other yml for the creative world doesn't seem to apply. Any fix for this?

    If you're using any generators make sure they are in the plugins folder and MultiVerse needs you to spell it exactly how it is in the plugins folder.

    In additon to what @silentdojo said, you can type
    Code:
    /mv gens
    to display the current generators that MV2 sees.

    Please go ask the author of your permissions plugin. If you're not using one, i'm not sure the default permissions stuff supports multiworld. Please try one of the ones listed to the lower right of our dev.bukkit.org page.

    No. I think this has been reported as a known CB bug.

    We are using bPermissions, if I am correct that is one of the permissions you support? The problem is that it the Creative.yml doesn't work when going in the Creative. It gets stuck at the PVP.yml

    It is supported, but only by the notion that it uses the SuperPerms API. The issue you're describing would be an issue with bPerms itself not changing the perms when the world changes. This I can't really help with.

    I need help at first i was using the normal worldedit wand to make portals and it was working fine and then it stopped letting me so i did /mvp wand and it said an inteernal error occured? help :l

    You're saying you asked the guy who makes PermissionsEx to read your variables if they are present and he turned you down?

    Sigh...that's like 5 minutes' work in code... (I know, I make plugins. It's not hard to import that stuff.) Well, thanks for making MultiVerse rock. Now if only other programmers were as dedicated, eh?

    BTW Fern, are you capable of giving me the Plugin Developer group in the forum? I've had plugins posted in releases for a long time now...and I'm on BukkitDev too.

    Im using the 2.2 version and cb 1510 and i noticed that when i create an end portal that instead of taking me to the end it takes me to the nether. Im also having an issue where when i create an end map (/mv create end end) that when i teleport to it there isnt any land, just endless void. I know this is just a dev build and all but I just thought i'd let you know
