An easy way to create shops - no protection plugin needed!​

Requirements:​

- Minecraft server that runs CraftBukkit​

- An economy plugin supported by Register or Vault, for example iConomy, BOSEconomy or Essentials Eco.​

Optional:​

- For additional economy plugin support - Vault​

- For Permissions: bPermissions, PEX, or any other permission plugin​

- For additional protection: LWC, Lockette, Deadbolt ​

- For other item names (aliases): OddItem​

Setup:​

Copy the .jar file from the .zip you downloaded into /plugins folder. ​

You can also copy the example files if you want to generate statistics page. ​

How to create a ChestShop?​

- Place a chest, if you haven't already.​

- Place a sign 1 block near the chest (for example, above the chest)​

- On the sign, write:​

​

(Item name can actually be item ID or alias)​

First line will be filled in by the plugin automatically. ​

Price is a combination of buy and sell price.​

You have to have B near buy price (people buy from you), and S near sell price (people sell to you).​

If you have both B and S, separate them with a colon - : ​

For example:​

​

means that AcrobotPL wants to sell 64 diamonds for 10 currency, and buy them back from you for 5 currency.​

Also, if you put "free" instead of price, it is free to buy or sell ​

- Now, when you finish editing the sign, if LWC is turned on in config, shop will be automatically created.​

Also, if your default protection is turned on in the config, people won't be able to break chest, sign or the block the sign is on.​

What is an Admin Shop?​

Admin shop is the shop that doesn't require a chest, because it has infinite stock.​

If you sell to it, the items will disappear, and if you buy from it, items will magically appear.​

To create one, you have to be Admin/OP. Just put "Admin Shop" (or anything specified in config file) on the first line of the sign.​

Restricting shops to some groups or regions​

You can either use permissions, or you can just put a sign ABOVE shop sign (you need to be in that group to create the sign) to restrict it to players with ChestShop.group.groupName permission ​

The syntax is:​

[restricted]​

Only those groups will be able to use that shop​

To restrict a shop to some regions:​

- If you're using Towny, turn TOWNY_INTEGRATION on. Residents will be able to create shops in economy plots (either their or, if specified in config, any)​

- If you're using WorldGuard, you can use an experimental "chestshop" flag. Turn WORLDGUARD_INTEGRATION on and flag a region. (f.e. /region flag ChestShopRegion chestshop allow) ​

Do you want to limit the maximum prices for items?
Well, there's an app.... wait, not that : P
You can use an experimental feature in ChestShop.
In your config.yml, add lines like:
max-buy-price-5: 14
max-sell-price-5: 15

That means that the maximum price for items BOUGHT by PLAYER is 14, and items SOLD by PLAYER using the shop is 15.

You can also use a global setting, like this:
max-sell-price: 200

That means that the maximum price for items SOLD to PLAYER is 200 (if there is, for example, a max-sell-price-5 found, it will be used instead of the global sell price)

USING SHOPS ​

You could buy and sell by right and left clicking the sign for a long time.​

Now it's the only way to use the shops.​

It's SIMPLE!​

Just LEFT-CLICK to SELL to shop, and​

RIGHT-CLICK to BUY from shop.​

(This can be changed in the config file) ​

DESTROYING SHOPS​

If you want to delete your old shop, simply SNEAK and destroy the sign.​

It's that easy =)​

STOCKING THE SHOPS​

You can either open the chest and stock it up, or click on your own sign - it will open chest's inventory (that way you can have chests not openable by other people for sure ) ​

ItemInfo command​

It's a simple command that shows item information.​

If you use it without any arguments, it shows you information about the item you're holding.​

If you specify item id or item name after the command, it will show you information about that item.​

You can't change the sign color - that breaks the formatting.​

So i just updated to 2.0 and i can still not make new shops. Any one have any ideas. Im running 612

- You've got badly configured Permissions config
- You misplaced the Permissions

Ive tryed many things none work and the offical name is blue dye... also duesnt work

How do i write factions or decimals for prices

 

That's exactly as I set it up in the permissions file. Moderators and above can do it and I am an admin. After typing what you have, and right clicking, it still does not work. I get no message that anything was created

 

I can't find the new config.yml, Acrobot stated it was in the new zip, but all i see is plugin.yml... any help would be appreciated

 

Maybe try reinstalling? If you can't buy or sell or create than something is wrong.

One request is that if shops are out of stock, the message that tells the seller that they have a shop out of stock actually says the name.

 

Alright I will give that a shot. I definitely had the crate stocked though...

 

The exact same thing is happening to me! I'm the admin and I CANNOT create another shop. I've tried every variation of typing on the sign, even what is correct, and just nothing happens.

I can happily tell Acrobot that the dummy account trick works like a charm! I set up in iConomy a dummy account "Metro", set it to a huge balance and went on to create a player chest with

Now, every player can sell Iron Ingots to my metro project for 3 coins a piece - and, I get the sold iron to build more rails! Yay, way to go!

 

EDIT: Nvmnd, I am stupider this morning as usual.

 

Is a option for AutoFill for Item Names ever going to return? I really miss it and had no real problems with it.

Yes, it may return, however, I've yet to find a fast solution, so it's not that important atm.

You probably messed with the plugin when the server was turned on.
Please TURN OFF THE SERVER, delete all previous iConomyChestShop files and upload new plugin.

Awesome, will upgrade to 2.0 when that is put in, atm people are asking which one of their shops is out of stock constantly in chat. How much more performance wise would it be to add a login message or a /shopinfo command to tell them how much money they made since their last logout and if any shops are empty with the itemname of the shop that is.

 

Have this same. Buying from old shops work but creating new don't. I use CB617 and EssentialsGroupManager. I am admin with *, default users with permissions cant create too.
I deleted folder and .jar and downloaded again but didn't help.

 

Ok yea im getting this too..... oh well.....
Please look into it acro, we can't create shops at all =|...

Sure, I have new version on my PC that has that.

The 2nd one:
I would have to design the /shopinfo command and the logout sth.
This may take some time

 

I can confirm that everything is working in 2.0 - if you set your Permissions nodes properly.

Here are the proper nodes in 2.0:

iConomyChestShop.shop.create - creating a shop
iConomyChestShop.shop.buy - using the shop
iConomyChestShop.shop.sell - selling to shops
iConomyChestShop.shop.admin - admin
iConomyChestShop.command.iteminfo - more in "ItemInfo" section

it's possible to refuse a buy with a shop, if the seller is not in the group "Shop" for exemple ?

You mean, if if someone doesn't have permissions to sell?
You can use Permissions node -> iConomyChestShop.shop.sell
If someone doesn't have it -> he/she can't sell to any shops.

Something that would be really useful is for the name of the item on the shop to update to OUT OF STOCK when it runs out of stock so that the shop keep doesn't need to go around opening all of his shop chests to see if they are out of stock or not, since not everybody is online when they run out of stock.

Just an idea

Will try the 2.0 or 2.1 updated plugin later today when I have time to make sure it's working correctly on our server.

Edit: Also when users buy stuff from a shop, the stuff doesn't show up until they log off the world and log back in again. Is this a bukkit issue, or this plugins issue, or maybe a minecraft server issue?

The 1st one was done in 2.01
The bug -> it's not my plugin's fault, UNLESS you still run alpha something...
You need to TURN off the server, delete the old plugin and upload the new one.
