Dear Bukkiteers, I noticed a strange problem lately (ever since 1.7.2) currently I am using 1.7.9 dev, but I noticed it with stable builds as well. My server crashes at midnight exactly when there was a lot of activity on the server that day. The problems seems to be the zipping of the log file (around 20 MB each day). I was wondering if there is a way to compress it more often instead of every day? However changing the compress intervals might fix the problem it still seems strange that a high end server with two physical quad core processors and 32GB ram can have trouble compressing a 20MB file (I monitored the cpu load but it remained at 0.32 and 0.38 while compressing <-- the load might also include the mysql saving) There are no errors in the log, latest.log is always empty after the crash and the previous log file is successfully compressed but I am not able to open it unless I close the crashed mincraft server.
