Colored Nicknames not working? (Essentials)

Also using these nodes and still not working

- essentials.nick
- essentials.nick.color

 

the permission nodes just allow you to use color codes with the /nick command, ex: /nick &4TreeDB would make it red. If you want everyone within a certain group to have colored nicknames you want the prefix done in either permissions or essentials config to be something like &7[GROUP]&a (green nicknames)

 

I meant the /nick &4<name> doesn't work even with the node in them. Is there maybe something on the config that would help?

 

Do you have the Essentials Chat module installed as well? If not, you know what to do

 

Yes, I have the Essential chat plugin also installed. Not sure why it's not working for other players. Only OP can use colored nicks.

 

Check for any EssentialsChat error messages. Also look into the config files to see if you may have accidentally disabled something.

 

What does it say when you try the nick command?
Also, do /ess debug, try add color to nick, paste console.

Eraldo What is the exact command you typed?

 

The command I used is: /nick &4Eraldo

So it should be in red name, but instead it comes out as the rank name's color (PermissionsEX)

 

Eraldo So the command works, but it doesnt change chat. Sounds like you have another chat plugin, list plugins please.

Eraldo You are using Chatmanager, which would override it. Consider using essentialschat instead.

I've just removed chatmanager and the colored nicknames still don't work.

I just found a fix for it. Really silly but also unexpected.

It was from the plugin PwnFilter. Color on chat was blocked, so I added a specific node to fix that. But also took me a lot of plugin deleting to see which one was causing it!
