Color changing text

Hello.

I've been wondering, would it be possible to have a text that changes color, for example from red to black over and over.
And if possible, have a name that changes colors like this?

 

Blinking text? What are you, a Quake III player or something?

Seriously though, there is no blink color in ChatColors in bukkit. And you cannot edit the chat log backwards, so I don't see this happening.

 

I'm not talking about blinking text, I mean a text that would change/slide from red to black slowly.

 

What's the difference?
Also, do you mean chat text in the backlog?

 

I see a difference between blinking text and that changes from color to another.
I mean the chat when you press T to chat. I don't know if thats the backlog your talking about, but I suppose?

EDIT: Maybe fading text would describe what I am looking for more.
A text that fades from red to black and then from black to red.
