Check for newer Config

Hello,

I have been googling for a while but haven't really found an answer to my question, so I guess I'll ask it here
So i'm developing a plugin and since the first version I have changed alot in the config.yml, but when I fire up the server after updating the plugin, it still uses the old config.yml. Is there a way to check if the config.yml matches the new one I included in the new version of the plugin I developed?
I was just wondering if it's possible.
