    Hey everyone!
I'm new to the whole minecraft scene, but I decided it was worth my time to set up a server and play with a few friends of mine. Long story short, I've managed to set it all up perfectly and installed the few plugins that I wanted, but I'm having one small issue.
Since Installing PermissionsEx and the few plugins which come with it (ModifyWorld and ChatManager) I can no longer seem to get my nickname to display. I'm 100% sure it's ChatManager conflicting with Essentials, but I can't seem to figure out how/why. Any help with this would be appreciated! P.S - When I type /nick mynickname it tells me that the nickname has been changed, it just won't display it! I guess you will want to see my config files, but as I'm not sure which ones I will just post the obvious -
    ChatManager-
    Code:
    chat-range: 100.0
    display-name-format: '%prefix%player%suffix'
    global-message-format: <%prefix%player%suffix> &e%message
    enable: true
    message-format: <%prefix%player%suffix> %message
    ranged-mode: false

    PEX Permissions.yml -
    Code:
    groups:
        default:
            default: true
            permissions:
            - modifyworld.chat
            - essentials.motd
            - essentials.help
            - essentials.nick
            prefix: '&f[&2ESK!&f]'
        admin:
            default: false
            permissions:
            - modifyworld.*
            - essentials.*
            - permissions.*
            prefix: '&f[&3Admin&f]'
    users:
        demix3000:
            options:
                group: admin
            group:
            - admin

and finally I guess, Essentials config -
    Code:

    # - No tabs are present: YAML only allows spaces
    # - Indents are correct: YAML heirarchy is based entirely on indentation
    # - You have "escaped" all apostrophes in your text: If you want to write "don't", for example, write "don''t" instead (note the doubled apostrphe)
    # - List items are prefixed with a hyphen and indented:

    # - CraftBukkit and Permissions have been updated: CraftBukkit and Essentials almost always line up, but sometimes other plugins fall behind CraftBukkit's multiple daily updates

    # When a command conflicts with another plugin, by default, Essentials will try to force the OTHER plugin to take
    # priority. If a command is in this list, Essentials will try to give ITSELF priority. This does not always work:
    # usually whichever plugin was updated most recently wins out. However, the full name of the command will always work.
    # For example, if WorldGuard and Essentials are both enabled, and WorldGuard takes control over /god, /essentials:god
    # will still map to Essentials, whereas it might normally get forced upon WorldGuard. Commands prefixed with an "e",
    # such as /egod, will always grant Essentials priority.
    # We should try to take priority over /god. If this doesn't work, use
    # /essentials:god or /egod. If god is set using WorldGuard, use /ungod to remove then use whichever you see fit.

oh dear, it seems I may have found the issue... I will check that now... still! any help and input would be of great help!
    Thanks a lot! - Demix

Edit: I had changed the whole

    "
    # Disable this if you have any other plugin, that modifies the displayname of a user.
change-displayname: true" to false in the hopes that it *may* fix it, however it then tells me that /nick isn't available at all with the setting turned off.

Just to note, as no one replied anyway :p turns out it was obviously the fact that ChatManager doesn't have the nickname feature built into it, so I've decided to re-write it slightly just to add this xD It's kind of pointless I know, but maybe others will find this useful too.

I went to the Chat Manager config and deleted player from message format so it looks like this now
    Code:
    message-format: '%prefix % %suffix: %message'
the full thing looks like this
    Code:
    chat-range: 100.0
    display-name-format: '%prefix %player %suffix'
    global-message-format: '%prefix %player %suffix" &e%message'
    enable: true
    message-format: '%prefix % %suffix: %message'
    ranged-mode: false

the nicknames show up correctly and so do normal player names
    hope i helped someone
