    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Perhaps someone can help me with this?

I'm trying to do TWO things:
    1. Change actual message text color of specific groups (individuals are fine too) from default.
(ie I want admins to speak in one color and default to speak in another).

    2. Change specific individuals nickname colors.

We're using permissions, if thats pertinent information. I've scoured the FAQ for Herochat and can find how to change prefix colors etc etc but not these two things. If you could also explain it like I don't know what I'm doing, because that's probably true, that would be great.

    Thank you :)
P.S. I'll throw you a vote on minestatus if you want, just let me know :)

You should make it so administrators can spy in on people's private conversations VIA toggle. Something like: "/ch spy"
  10. great plugin:
I have to sites: GOOD and EVIL
with heroes u can choose a class and with the class also the site.

    But i have a question:
Can i add the prefix plugin too it.
The prefix Plugin gives a player a name for his name
    (example: <Master><Black_ixx> or <King_of_Light><Azia23> or <King_of_Darkness><Gammler2>)
If i use the herochat plugin, the prefix is unabled, and for my name is the name of the channel

    Same Problem here.
Using MC 1.8.1 on CB#1185 and heroChat 4.10.3

    Plugin List:

    AutoMessage 1.5
    Essentials 2.6.1
    FalseBook 0.88
    FullChest 2.5
    HeroChat 4.10.3
    iConomy 6
    ChestShop 3.2
    Cookie Monster
    LogBlock 1.30
    LWC 3.2
    myWarp 2.0
    NoCheat 2.07
    PermissionsEx 1.14
    WorldEdit 4.6
    WorldGuard 5.2.2

Weird enough, we first got it to work on our test server where we prepared everything for the upgrade to MC 1.8.1.
Then we copied the whole plugin folder to the game server with a fresh craftbukkit build.
Eveithing worked just fine. Except HeroChat. It does not work at all.

We checked all the config files an .jars several times.
Any suggestions how to solve this with the currently available version of HC?

    Hi !
Ive changed my Factions command to /g
however when i type /g it comes the QuickMessage command. Is there a way i could fix this ?

    Thanx for the attention.

take the nickname g off your global channel, or change it.

            color: WHITE
            nickname: g

Plugin is currently broken as far as I can tell. Prefixes and suffixes are not detected from permissions given in either PailPlus, PermissionsBucket, or the Permissions yml in the root Bukkit folder. Channel nick and color work, as does the IRC relay feature but that as all I could get working. If these features are in fact working then documentation is poor/outdated.

Works 100% with PEX and #1221

Chat appears in console. Probably something that milkadmin is filtering out perhaps?

It doesn't seem to work with PermissionsEx?

[EDIT]: Sorry for the crappy description.

I just moved to PermissionsEx, as Permissions 3.x was getting outdated and more and more plugins stopped supporting it. I converted all the config files and everything. Now prefixes don't show up. I could see the [g] channel thing, but the prefixes were gone.
    Just [g] (playername): (message)

I suppose there could be something wrong with my configuration, but I didn't change any of it.
And btw I also installed the Permissions 2.x compability layer, and it still doesn't work

    try this
    color: WHITE
    nickname: G
    speak: []
    join: []
    message-format: '{prefix}{player}{suffix}{color} '
    game-to-IRC: []
    IRC-to-game: []
    worlds: []
    password: ''
    bans: []
    moderators: []
    hidden: false
    shortcut-allowed: true
    auto-join: true
    local: false
    cross-world-chat: true
    join-messages: false
    forced: true
  25. Offline

MichaelSe, the reason is not a problem with PEX (we use it too) , but with Bukkit 1185.
HeroChat is not yet updated for it.
So Prefixes/Suffixes and channel selection does not work in version 4.10.3 any more.
It also conflicts with the new Falsebook 0.88.

Hope the author will work on this soon, as HeroChat is essential for most servers...
