Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Anyone get the prefix colours to work? Mine don't and they were just before updating to MC 1.7 + CB 953

 

Hey many have asked the for this same problem but no answer solves mine. I cant get to work admins prefixes, and sufixes, I've tried everything, deleting herochat, changing defaults message format, simplify admins prefix, but none seems to work, im getting kinda angry. Can somebody help me?? ill place herochat config and permissions config.

I removed some permissions from other plugins, but just it case they have confilcts, i have:Mcmmo,Stargate,EasyRPG,LWC,Iconomy,Permissions,WorldEdit,WorldGuard.

Your permissions file has multiple errors in it so if you aren't getting any error messages, it tells me that file isn't even being used by your system. I would check to make sure you have the file in the right place and that it is named correctly. If you are getting the error messages, then you can fix the errors by adding a space after each - that isn't currently followed by a space.

You should be getting something along the lines of:

The fix would be as I said above. You need to add a space after all -s that don't currently have a space after them.

If you aren't getting any errors then as I said above, your files aren't being read by Permissions. You need to check your Permissions version against what type of file you are using. You should also check the location of your files. They should be in plugins\permissions\<world> if you are using 3.x and plugins\permissions if you are using 2.x.

ok I want to know how to block words with periods in between them.
for example I want "nerd" to be blocked if someone says "n.e.r.d." or "n.e.r.d"

I already know how to do it if someone said "nnneeerrrdddd" or "n e r d". Can anyone help?

Name of channel is #theminecraftserver on irc.esper.net If I don't have HeroChat enabled it works fine.

Stuff said in IRC is being displayed ingame and stuff said ingame is being displayed in IRC. But the minute I enable HeroChat. Only IRC -> Game works. The other way around simply no longer works. It does nothing. I've tried everything.

defining the game to irc etc.. as #theminecraftserver and a lot of variations etc.. Made no difference at all

Everything else works. Prefix & Suffix, color codes, all channels. Everything. I just can't get the IRC to work so that stuff said ingame is also displayed in IRC.

I am using Permissions 3.1.6, HeroChat 4.10.3 and CraftBukkit #953 (1.7.2) and my Prefixes and Suffixes are working fine.

My suggestion to you is make sure you have Permissions 3.x set up correctly (the new layouts etc) and not have any conflicting plugins which may use the chat somehow.

Hey, any chance you could check for the event to be cancelled in onPlayerCommandPreprocess? This causes people using hero chat to be able to bypass my spam prevention plugin. I see no other way around it.

Any help would be awesome! I didn't remove any of my permissions because I realize that I may have some that are completely wrong to begin with.

Also is there a 'herochat.color' permission? I was having the toughest time finding the permissions for the herochat plugin to begin with.

@DThielke Is there any reason herochat is incompatible with /me from essentials? I'm not using EssentialsChat, but when i try to /me <text> i get an "You cannot chat now" error. How can I completely shut out my users from switching channels, but still being able to see ALL channels. So my [builder] class can hear [Default] but not change to [Default].
Same with some [Default] abusing /ch by switching to [Admin]

 

Hello! For some reason when I say something in chat it sends the message twice (look at attached file for screenshot). This happened just after updating Herochat to latest version for some reason and remains the same after reverting back to an older version but it was working as it should before updating.
Any help on this would much be appreciated. Thanks!
