    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

As with everyone else - I'll need to see your Permissions and HeroChat configs to look into your first issue.

Regarding your second issue, I'm not sure what you mean - there is no /ch mod msg command.

Permissions groups listed in the HeroChat config are case sensitive. Your first issue arises because the group you defined in Permissions is 'Admin', while the group listed in the HeroChat config is 'admin' - they are not the same.

To fix your second issue, just change the nickname of the Mods channel to something else. I'll fix and upload a new default config in a bit. Thanks for catching that.

Ah, case sensitivity. Got it working now, thanks.

Couldnt have our server up in bMod without this plugin. If you run a public server, this is the only true solution.

Is there a list of plug-ins that this conflicts with? I ran this for a few minutes but found out it threw errors when I tried to list the channels. I could still join them, but it was freaking out.

Hey DT :D! Im not sure if this is on your end or iChats end but word censoring works now (niji updated it) but its supposed to mark the blocked word in a different color but instead only shows the &7 color code. Is there any way you could make it compatible?

Yep, I was right. Your defaultChannel needs to be set to an actual channel listed in the config. You have it set to Global, but you don't actually have a Global channel defined. Set it to Main or something.

What exactly are your steps to recreate this error? You join the server and immediately type /ch list?

Channel names and nicknames must be one word. Change it to DonatorLounge and it should work.

    Starting 2.64 on CB 246:

SEVERE: Could not load plugins/HeroChat.jar in plugins: null
Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: Jar does not contain plugin.yml

Thanks for the great plugin! Still waiting for the option to have only certain groups autojoin a channel on join, which still is accessable to everyone (Guests join on local only, Mods on local but also global, Guests havr to join Global themselves).

Also, would you be able to supply a direct .jar download? Thats a little more wget friendly ;)

Should be fixed now. I'll add a direct .jar link to the original post in a minute.

    Changelog:
    Version 2.65
    • Bug fix: forgot to include plugin.yml in the jar last build

For some reason my herochat is reading the old .yml file with only 3 channels and won't read the new one with many more. Any ideas? I only have the new one in the herochat folder.

Did you delete/rename your old one and rename your new one to 'data.yml'?

This works hand-in-hand with iChat. At least it does for me.

Correct, this plugin is designed to work very well in conjunction with iChat.

Um, this sounds silly but... are you sure you deleted the old file and have the new one in the right location? The plugin has nowhere to get information but that file (it doesn't have some sort of persistent memory when the server is restarted).

Can you post the new file here?

Hey, I'm having this problem with all plug-ins that deal with chat. So far, the others have just ignored my plea for help! Perhaps you can help me solve this issue? (I see many other members having the same problem as well.) I'm almost 99% sure it has something to do with a permissions bug.
