    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

I'm using Build 550 (March 13th) And the error says That I need to upgrade to permissions 2.5.1, it is also happening on Epic Zones. Could it be my bukkit version?

For my server, I'm thinking about a shout, a talk, and a whisper function, but we can only have one. Could you please allow multiple local settings rather than just one?

    Thanks,

Could you post the entire start up log to pastebin.com? Those two pictures don't tell me much without seeing the whole log from start-up.

Could you take everything shown in your console at start-up and upload it to pastebin.com for me?

This is on my to-do list, but I don't have an exact ETA for you unfortunately.

Could not pass event PLAYER_CHAT to HeroChat.

Using latest HeroChat and Multiverse. Only happens when I'm in the hellworld.:'(

Nevermind, I am using build 535, which is unsupported. Sorry, can't use older versions due to the very bad exploits that can crash the server.

That's quite the list of errors. It looks like you're having issues with Permissions in general - it's not something specific to HeroChat.

That being said, I'll try to point out a few things.

    Code:
2011-03-15 14:46:17 [INFO] [Permissions] version [2.5.4] (Phoenix) was Initialized.
2011-03-15 14:46:17 [SEVERE] OOOPS! Fake Permissions version 2.5.1 couldn't find GroupManager!
2011-03-15 14:46:17 [INFO] Fake Permissions version 2.5.1 is disabled!
2011-03-15 14:46:17 [INFO] Fake Permissions version 2.5.1 is enabled!
Are you using Permissions or GroupManager? It looks like you had GroupManager installed, but then tried switching to Permissions without fully removing all of the GM files.

Also, it looks like you might be using an old version of iChat that has been discontinued. Have you updated to one of the new versions?

If fixing these two things doesn't solve your problems, I would ask for help in the Permissions thread, as this is definitely a bad Permissions install. They'd be able to provide better support in their own thread.

I've got a random request/question since I don't see it in the feature list, and it might be something that'd be easy to implement considering there's censorship in place already. I'm from a community that has a lot of people who tend to type out voicebinds from another game we play, but some don't know them... Would be very nice to be able to have a replacement list, so for example if someone just types out "vgs" it gets replaced with say, "[vgs] Shazbot!" Any possibility of doing that? I don't think you'd need much more than an input=output type association in a config file.

    DThielke

I'll consider adding this, but I might just integrate it with the existing censor list.

For example, just having 'something' would find 'something' and replace it with asterisks (the existing behavior). However, if you include 'something;somethingelse' it would find 'something' and replace it with 'somethingelse'.

I'm trying to create a channel requested by a user, but it keeps returning the help command like i did something wrong.

The command I'm typing is /ch create lordshop ls p:lord color:5 -hj

    am i missing something? thanks!

  15. is it possible to mute someone via a command for a mod? I know that you can chose to ignore users, but i am wanting my chat mods to be able to mute a user

All of those 'defaultcommands.XXXXX' lines need to be properly indented (with spaces) and prefixed by a '- '. Take a look at the default config provided with Permissions for an example.

Also, if you're including '*' as a permission, you don't need to list all those other ones specifically. The asterisk means the group has EVERY permission.

No luck yet. Replaced jar file and restarted server, then typed the same command as above. Still not working :/
Btw, cb431 and all permissions given. Returns the help command as if i typed something wrong.
