I had 2 problems, firstly, when I pushed run, it said that there is no craftbukkit.jar file or something else in my folder, so I renamed the craftbukkit...(lots of letters and numbers) into craftbukkit.
Then the server opened normally, but now I can't log in, and also others can't log in into my server.

What can I do? Help please!!:(

Are you on 1.1, or 1.2.3? And what king of error message are they getting when they try to log in?

If you downloaded the recommended build then you downloaded CraftBukkit for 1.1 and not for 1.2.3. So your client and server are not matched up. See my post here:

If they are not matched up then they would get an error saying "internal excpetion...." or "Outdated client" So that is not the case. If you post your server.log from 1 boot up it would help out... But i may be wrong. since everyone is in a different case..

Most likely caused by out of date plugins. You need plugins that support at least 1.1-R5/6 for the new event system, but it would be best if they support 1.2.3-R0.1, so that you know they have been updated for the new world height.

As 1.2.3 is a Beta build, most plugins will require you to get their development versions.

I don't have any plugins yet.

By default if you are standing within 16 blocks of the world spawn, only OPs can place blocks. You can OP your self by typing op your minecraft username on the server console (i.e. op Luxwilliam).

If its not that, are you getting any kinds of errors on the server console or in your chat log?

You can type version on the console and see which version of CraftBukkit you are using. If it does not say 1.2.3-R0.1 or 1.2.3-R0.2 you are out of date.

Or as an altrenative you can look at your server.log and find the most recent start up. Look for something like this below. If its running the beta build it will say Starting minecraft server version 1.2.3. If it says 1.1, you'll need to download the beta build.

    Example:
    2012-03-13 02:29:44 [INFO]
    Starting minecraft server version 1.1
    2012-03-13 02:29:44 [INFO] Loading properties
    2012-03-13 02:29:44 [WARNING] server.properties does not exist
2012-03-13 02:29:44 [INFO] Generating new properties file
2012-03-13 02:29:44 [INFO] Starting Minecraft server on *:25565
2012-03-13 02:29:45 [INFO] This server is running CraftBukkit version git-Bukkit-1.1-R6-b1988jnks (MC: 1.1)(Implementing API version 1.1-R6)

  18. I tested this and it IS a version-mismatch issue. Some of my connecting users complained about this, but why does this happen? With other (previous) builds you'd just get the message that the client or server is outdated.
