Can my old PC run my server?

i know i should start a new thread but i cant figure out how to!
how do you op players in the new 1.7.9 beta build. i accidentally de opped everyone but i cant seem to figure out how to op myself again to op the other admins. it seems you dont simply list the name in the op file anymore but have to enter it in a certain way.

(I don't run on 1.7.9 yet, but I don't think anything has changed there. )

 

it has. i tried the normal way.

 

Enter it in the console.

 

like i said no one is op. enter my name somehow in the op file.

You can't just place playernames in the ops file anymore. You need to have each op's UUID. The format is:

You can make your life easier by going to the console and typing:

op ecarcticfire

 

oh ok thx. i thought you ment go in the game with a opped player and do that. sorry

No problem with it if you're just hosting something small for a few friends

 

It's not holding up too well for all the command blocks and things were running through it. Multiverse is a struggle, trying to get that to work. It's only about 4 people on at a time but there are about 10 or more people who play it

 

You don't need any professional computer to run a minecraft server.
you can run the fastest server with just 1GB ram.
It will run very smooth and you can have up to 50 players with 1GB ram with about 50 plugins.

 

Ik. But the cpu is crap
