A really good solution for hosting multiple servers on one computer is MineOS CRUX. It's a Linux OS that is paired with some excellent scripts for managing Minecraft servers. It also has a defined structure for separating the servers. But the OS itself only uses 30 mb of RAM. So if you have a box with only 2 or 4 GB of RAM, then MineOS CRUX will allow you to use more of your RAM for your servers.

Yes, you still have to have different port numbers defined as ZeroZX4 stated, but MineOS CRUX can do that well.

They will need to be on different ports unless you have more than one IP address (which I doubt you do if you're talking about a residential connection)
