    From my recent testing, I have discovered a rather interesting fact;
    bPermissions is 400 times faster than PermissionsBukkit

    Here's how I do it: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/pe...er-for-when-bukkit-is-slowing-you-down.95536/

    You can also include the source file in your own code and run the test for yourself!

    Any thoughts?
    Obviously this one applies to the initial setting of permissions onto the player, but if you're setting thousands of permissions with PermissionsBukkit you'll get a lag spike!

    How often do you set thousands of permissions at the same time? :eek:

    Not necessarily thousands, but certainly a few hundred (depending on the server).

    Is there a converter for PermissionsBukkit to bpermissions?

    I tried to manually convert and I failed horribly.

    I'd be interested in seeing the results of your testing, against all the current perms plugins.

    Me too. Especially PermissionsEx.

    Meh, a default player on my server just have about 35 perms so I don't feel there is any need to change plugin.

    Yah, I'd like to see bPerms vs PEX :D

    I'll see if I can devise a suitable series of tests!

    As a server co-owner, I'm trying to convince my friend to switch our server over to bPermissions, but he isn't convinced yet.

    Thanks for this thread, now I can show him how much better it is!
