Block.getLightFromSky() returns a byte. It returns 0 if the block is not exposed to the sky ( I think, please correct me if I'm wrong). My question is: Do 'transparent' blocks, like flowers, or snow, affect this value?

    test this self?

i just can't see any reason that may disallow you to add command that will test level of block you looking at and telling it's sky light.

While I normally would, I'm working on a pretty large plugin that probably wouldn't even compile properly at this stage. I should have made that clear but thanks anyways :)

Thanks for the link :). The answer then is yes, snow and flowers and grass, etc, lower the light value by 1.

AoH_Ruthless Read through the whole page, there are some exceptions for blocks and whatnot.

Yeah but none of those really matter to me after reading through them.
