Best Notepad++ Alliterative for Mac?

I have been looking for a Notepad++ like editor for mac. Anyone know of any?

 

I've heard mention of TextWrangler many times, but I'm not a Mac user: http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/

 

I tried quite a few text editors on mac, and have found nothing event coming close to Textmate

 

The best alliterative? Is "Notepad++ is Not a Noxious Narcotic-eating Necrophile with a Network of Nine Newly Nerfed Nincompoop Noobs on Macs" good enough?

If you meant alternative, TextMate is supposed to be good. You could also try QScintilla (though you might have to compile it yourself), which is based on the same editor that Notepad++ is.

 

Nothing beats TextMate.

 

vim (macvim) does, needs some time to configure and get used to it though.

 

I thought TextMate wasn't a free program, unlike Notepad++....
