I just started learning Java a few days ago. I got the hold of some basic stuff, I read (some of) the plugin tutorial on wiki.bukkit.org, but that wasn't a good way to learn for me, hence the reason I didn't read the whole thing. What I think might be a good idea is to look at some other plugins, which are quite basic, and see how they're made and such. If feedback on the tutorial is taken, I'd gladly try to help making it better.

I'd check out a list of events and play around with them. That's how i helped my friend understand a little better. He made a midas touch plugin when EVERYTHING you touch, place, etc all turn to gold lol.

So just think of a random idea, even if it's useless, and make it happen!

Oops, it seems the link didn't get copied all the way.
Nonetheless, you can Google the phrase "bukkit plugin source github" and find lots of sources to browse.

Well the thing is, the tutorial didn't actually tell me how to do stuff, so that's why I want to see other plugins.

Trying to google stuff like that only comes up with the big plugins, which are too advanced for me.
