auto-promote players suggestions

Currently I'm using a combination of 2 plugins to do auto-promotes in game:

Group manager has been giving me a lot of issues lately with multi-world permissions, and I badly need to switch off of it. With Achievements not being updated, I doubt it supports Permissions 3.x for rank changes.

We currently use these two plugins to promote a player to a builder group after they have read the rules and follow the instructions, and also after playing for 35 hours on our server, they get a promotion to veteran.

Does anyone else do any kind of auto-promote and which plugins are you using?
