Are there any Spout Alternatives?

    I used to love spout. My favourite feature was musical transitions with towny and a graphical party system similar to a WoW setup.

    It's been a long time, so I'm just wondering if there may happen to be any alternatives that have cropped up? Something likely to update with bukkit as it goes along.

    Currently Bukkit is not updating to 1.8, probably might not get to see another update. Sponge is a new API/Server platform in development right now, they are planning on making both a Server and a Client(similar idea to Spout). Vanilla clients will still able to join the server.
