What is Buycraft, and why does my Minecraft server need it?​

Buycraft enables you to sell in game items/memberships to your community, allowing yourself to fund your server bills to keep your Minecraft server alive. Buycraft is basically an online shopping cart system for your own server!​

How will my players use Buycraft?​

After you have created a Buycraft account, you are given an online webstore which you can use to promote your items for sale. Your players will visit this website and be able to purchase the items that they want, be it a collection of armour, or a monthly VIP membership.​

What can I sell to my users, and how?​

Buycraft enables you to sell ANYTHING to your users, from a collection of armour upgrades, to monthly VIP memberships. When a player purchases a product, it is automatically processed on your Minecraft server, and removes all hassle of managing payments by yourself. All these different options will take the worry out of funding your Minecraft server.​

quinerzzzz I doubt there is... as a buycraft owner it gives you the option to not use 'global' bans... aka, even if a player has been banned from buycraft on another server, they don't necessarily have to be banned on your buycraft... that said, you'll need to talk to the server owner who you're thinking of donating towards, to uncheck that option.

 

Send me a PM, and I will probably make the plugin for you eventually. It may take a few weeks though, as I'm quite busy ATM.

 

Its probably been suggested already, but would it be possible to add a search option to check if a specific package in part of a purchase? Essentially searching for all players who bought vip and so on?

 

This feature is coming however we are waiting till when we get to do our new checkout process. Sorry for the delay, however we are adding what the mojority wants first.

When you save a package that contains a command that begings with a '/' it removes it. I have some commands that are actually //<command> and now they can't execute. Can you please fix this?

 

This is already possible, just do /bc {name} has bought a donator rank.

 

Type two //, it will remove just one of them

This will then execute /<command>, but thats the same as two / if you were to execute it in the console.

Currently there is no way for store owners to bypass the chargeback protection for a single player.

Hello dear Buycraft developers.
I Am a user and a great fan of the buycraft system,Everything starting working out since I started using it,I have a suggestion to make which will affect and assist all the buycraft users and not just myself.
recently I have made my VIP-Upgrades category,And It seems it works fine but there is a better way to improve it,for example,Lt's say that I have those following ranks as Donator ranks at the VIP category:
- Donator 5$
- V.I.P 10$
- Premium 25$
And another category where you can upgrade your ranks,so there will be:
Donator -> V.I.P 5$ {Requires Doantor}
Donator -> Premium 15$ {Requires Doantor}
V.I.P -> Premium 10$ {Requires V.I.P}
Now if someone buy Donator rank for 5$ and later wants to upgrade to VIP he can
Buy the "Doantor -> V.I.P 5$" which requires to have Donator,After some time
the same player decides to upgrade his V.I.P Rank to Premium rank,but he can't do it,because he never bought V.I.P! he Bought The "Donaotr -> V.I.P" so he never bought the V.I.P Package to be able to upgrade to "Premium" rank.
What i suggest is the option to add more then 1 dependency to be able to buy the package and a Checkbox near it that will ask if all the packages listed is needed to be purchased or just 1 of them.
So in the future the upgrade packages will look like this:
Donator -> V.I.P 5$ {Requires Doantor}
Donator -> Premium 15$ {Requires Doantor}
V.I.P -> Premium 10$ {Requires V.I.P}/{Donator -> V.I.P}
This way to buy the package "V.I.P -> Premium" need to have one of the following packages: "V.I.P" or "Donator -> V.I.P"
Adding the option to add another package dependency will make Every owner's life easier.

 

You should just put all your ranks in one category, and enable cumulative pricing for that category. It will automatically subtract the previous rank prices when upgrading.

I have a great suggestion to make life easier when it comes to taxes. In the statistics for the total it should have it so it shows the total after paypal fees if you use paypal. So like say I have paypal enabled then in the statistics page it will have another box showing your total after paypal fees. All you need to do is figure out paypal's rate and substract it from the payments. This would help many people who are required to do taxes so we dont have to sit for hours adding up all our gross pay after paypal fees.

Paypals fees vary from each payment, so this isn't possible. You can get this information from the monthly statements PayPal provide

 

I would please like to request you add Stripe as one of the payment gateways, I use them daily and their fees and services out number literally ALL the other payment gateways.

Buycraft says it has:

• Advanced fraud protection techniques. Deal with chargebacks hassle free.

What are these techniques? So far on my server around $1,300 in donations and not a single chargeback, so maybe I'm just lucky. I'm fearing the day that a chargeback does occur though or the older donators will chargeback their donation because they do not play.

 

I don't think you can charge back a payment which was made over x-amount of days ago.

 

One thing Buycraft does is block people from all Buycraft-stores if they ever issue a chargeback for a donation.

 

That's pretty awesome but if it's a users first purchase from Buycraft on my server and he issues a chargeback I'm pretty much screwed?

Sorry if it's been asked before, I couldn't get the search feature on the thread to work for some reason (something about a "server error").


With paypal, I notice that it applies fees to transactions done through a debit/credit card - namely, 2.9% + $0.30. This is a problem for me because most of my ideas for donor features rely on small fifty cent purchases, and if all my transactions occurred in $0.50 units, more than 3/5 of my donations would get eaten up by paypal fees.
So my question is, is Buycraft subject to these fees, and if so, what can I do to prevent this?

 

That's just how Paypal works. The only way to prevent it would be using a different payment gateway.

There's not a whole lot we could do to prevent it the first time. Most you can do is probably writing a good T&C for your store, to try and scare people off. If people do charge-back though, Paypal will do absolutely nothing to help you, but everything to save their own money. The only real way I see to prevent chargebacks is to only allow bitcoin payments.

Is there a way I can set my buycraft to only accept paypal accounts and not debit/credit cards, since the paypal fees only seem to apply to non-paypal sources?

Alternatively, is there a way I can have the payments sent directly to my bank account rather than paypal?

Or is there a way I can have buycraft group all of the donations in one month together, and then send me the total at the end of the month, so that the $0.30 fee will only be applied to the month's total rather than each individual player's donation?

 

All three of these aren't possible. All the packages in one payment will share the same fee though, so if people buy multiple packages at a time, that will get you more money. Maybe you could encourage people to buy in bulk with a coupon?

Error_price is that we received an incorrect amount of money from the customer. Pending_other is when Paypal dont provide us with a reason, but its normally that they are reviewing the payment. Some older payments were set to pending_other, but they were originally error_price so treat them as that.
