    Permissions 2.1 (Handler)
    Download 2.1 (Jar Only)
    Older: 2.0, 1.9, 1.8, 1.7, 1.6, 1.5, 1.4, 1.3, 1.2, 1.1, 1.0

    Permissions... Done right.
Permissions allows plugin-authors to utalize a permission system that handles group inheritance, globalized permission settings, and more. All the features of a fine-grained permission system in one plugin.

    1. Groups
    2. Group Inheritance, Allows for groups to gain permissions from other groups.
    3. User Permission System
    4. Fine Grained Permission system.
      1. Allowing for Globalized permissions
    5. Easy to use, setup, and implement.
    6. Two cache layers, first from file to memory, then from memory to cache.
      1. Plugins can control cache since version 2.1
    7. And much more.
    For the users

Permissions gives server admins great control, mostly in-game reloading. Simply use /pr and the file will be re-cached and never touched again until you need to reload it. This allows you to quickly give your users the commands that they need without having to restart the server.

    Installation for 2.0 down:
    1. Download the archive.
    2. Extract contents to the /plugins folder.
    3. Open up /plugins/Permissions/config.yml
      1. Read / modify.
      2. Save.
    4. Reload Server.

    Supporting Plugins

I have hit the character limit for this post.

    Thanks to:
    • sk89q for hiearchical and node system idea.
    • Creator of GroupUsers for api implementation.
This author has stopped development of this plugin. It is no longer supported and I wouldn't ask for help here, as you won't get any. New Permissions

I am waiting only on this plugin to update from 345 to the new bukkit that supports Mineraft version 1.3

I would truly appreciate it if you could take on that task, Nijikokun (and so would MANY others I am sure!)

Edit: I am hearing mixed results here from people, so I will try out the newest version with Permissions... any input from the author would be great on this, though, as it's unclear what Permissions 2.0 now works with!

I would not be surprised if it was the plugins causing the problem and not permissions most plugins use an isOp check if the permissions fails or it has some kind of weird spaz attack so maybe that isOp check is broke or notch changed it around when he did the whitelist stuff he added. thats just a few of my ideas maybe the isOp check is returning every 1 as op.

    2.1 has just been released.

Plugin authors must do something new to hook into permissions, I will tell this information soon.

and everyone still has access to all commands. the link from eggplant is the same as the one officially released.

    agreed ^^^

    Thanks for the quick update.
I appreciate you updating your plugin so fast, & with so much more features!
    Amazing work!

Also to the people that have the problem of everyone being able to use all permissions, It is not permissions fault, It is the other plugins, as it works fine by itself.

You're absolutely correct. Bukkit commands are restricted, whereas any plugin commands are not.

I wish this were a joke. I'm away for the week with none of my source on me... this is going to cripple my server for a week. If there's any testament to the need for an official Bukkit permission system, it's this.

Awesome! Thanks for updating so damn fast

    It's work. Thank you.

So Reading the update i now need a permissions setting file for each world qand i can use the copies thing to make my second world the same as my base world if i want it to be exactly the same with no differances or i can run a totaly seprate file and have diffent access.

this could be interesting for denying build ect means my main world could have permissions where noobs can build and i could deny them build in the rest of my worlds Sounds good to me and even though I have like 4 worlds i will only need 2 setups Nice Now if the rest of the plugin's would just update my headach would be better :p

    You make no sense.

It works perfectly fine for me, I would need more information about as to what exactly isn't working, any errors, or your configuration file.

Makes sense to me... Because he has to wait for other developers to release their new versions, it'll probably take a week. And it's because of nothing he did.

    That's what I understood.

No, kingnerd is a plugin developer. He does not have his source files for his plugins with him, so he cannot create new versions compatible with Permissions 2.1 .
  21. Offline

Ah, now it makes complete sense!
  22. Offline

It is backwards compatible. Hence why it makes no sense.
  23. Offline

Good to know :) @kingnerd - That answer your problem?
  24. Offline

Just to clear this up. Does essentials permissions not working or will downloading permissions 2.1 fix everything. Including LWC

    btw thanks for this plugin!!
  25. Offline

So any ideas on which plugin is making all players appear as ops and have broken permissions (World Edit, etc..?)?

    EDIT: seems like it's Essentials
  26. Offline

Will not fix Essentials or LWC. Both plugins need tp update their hooks so that not everyone is an OP.

hopefully the other mods that rely on this will be fixed within the next 24 hours.

Alot of different mods. If all users are able to use that mods commands, that mod is broken.

why make them do something new?
the old way works perfect (well worked perfect) plus users had a choice your plugin or the new group manager surely if you add something to this they will have to add the same to that ?

This changed for a good reason, Multi-World support. Nijikokun I believe did a good thing with this and as she stated above, it is backwards compatible. I find she is doing an amazing job here and shouldn't be harassed for doing her best for people. If you don't like the way she does things, don't use her plugin.

    You are welcome. :)

Nijikokun is female? You must be mistaken....

It would seem like there are people following this advice - Essentials no longer uses Permissions for this reason.

I suggested not long ago, that people creating permission-based plugins pool their talent and make a single unified package.. the suggestion apparently fell on deaf ears. And/or there is too much in-fighting going on creating drama that is unable to be looked past.

    The divide widens..
