It would be nice if we had any news from the plugin developer on if there will be a new update or if he is going to just leave the plugin alone myself and many people need this plugin since the 1.2 update screwed my map and now i need to fix it would be greatly apreciated if the developer would reply soon :)

Just what I was about to say, an ETA too if possible.

I imagine he'll get to it when he gets to it.

In the meantime, I've found a few ways to fix bad chunks, but they require a bit of elbow grease. If you want to poke at mcsaver.net, I might be able to fix em.

Thank you for your deep and meaningful insight into this issue. Do you have any other words of wisdom for us?

I'm using chunkster 0.3 with bukkit 1.2.4 R1.0 and R1.1 . I'm having a few issues with my flat creative world. I use clean room generator to generate it. I have 2 chunks that when loaded, the server lags hard and I can't move. I got rid of one bad chunk by restoring a backup, but I still have another one I can't fix. I tried chunkster on it a few times with different parameters. it doesn't fix the problem, and in face, it doesn't seem to even remove any mobs or dropped items either.

It should be easy to do this in MCEdit

yup, mcedit solved my problem. thanks. I got a copy of the building saved, then I regenerated the chunks. all fixed now. btw, I found a nice feature in dynmap that shows you what chunk file your mouse is pointing at. it was helpful in this case. took me 10 seconds to track down the right files, delete them, and start the server back up.

How did you use MCEdit? I thought the last updated version was for pre-1.2 maps?

Was some time ago he was logged in last.
We also got some very nasty map corruptions lately, and I hope someone out there will be able to update this or release something similar soon. Removing the map is the last option. :(

So I was like "Man MCEdit will probably help me spot the corrupted chunk". Open the 15gb map in MCEdit, fly to area, MCEdit closes...
