Hello, my friends server has run into the problem of having the many chunks errors but I need some basic help to do this.
How would I specify the path to my world?(is it the built-jar properties file in the build folder?) I assume that using cmd is suitable as a CLI for this but how would I then run "java -jar Chunkster.jar <world directory>"?
Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Would you be able to upload the world somewhere? I haven't had a chance to see a corrupted region file yet.

@XeonProductions I'm not sure if you've seen the thread yet but there's a group of people in the High CPU Usage thread who are having an issue with mobs on their maps. Basically their CPU is at 100% because at some point, way too many squids were spawned. It'd be nice if Chunkster had a feature to remove all monsters off a map.

Gladly. I have since solved the problem however, by removing the offending chunks via MCedit.
My level.dat was also damaged, resulting in a different world seed and biome changes, however
I was able to restore that because I had an older archive containing an earlier level.dat.
Is it possible that chunkster might be improved in the future, that it may also be able to repair
damage to level.dat caused by crashes? (would be lovely :3)

I am currently uploading an archive of the corrupted world files (before I had fixed it with MCedit)
and I will PM you a link as soon as that is complete.
I believe I have already run chunkster on this copy of my world files, however
some corruption still remains, which was causing problems when the server loads those areas.
Hope my world files are of some use to you. Excellent work with chunkster.

I'll try to add something like that, shouldn't be too hard to remove some entities.

    Alright, I'll check it out.

What kind of .bat file should be ran in a script so far i have
    Code:
    @echo off
java -jar Chunkster.jar "Reduce the crazy"
    pause
and i run it and get this only

    Code:
    [Chunkster] Starting scan...
[Chunkster] REGION LOAD Reduce the crazy\region\r.-1.-1.mcr
    [Chunkster] Scanning region file x=-1 z=-1 file=r.-1.-1.mcr
[Chunkster] REGION LOAD Reduce the crazy\region\r.-1.0.mcr
    [Chunkster] Scanning region file x=-1 z=0 file=r.-1.0.mcr
[Chunkster] REGION LOAD Reduce the crazy\region\r.0.-1.mcr
    [Chunkster] Scanning region file x=0 z=-1 file=r.0.-1.mcr
[Chunkster] REGION LOAD Reduce the crazy\region\r.0.0.mcr
    [Chunkster] Scanning region file x=0 z=0 file=r.0.0.mcr
Press any key to continue . . .
what am i doing wrong??? Know little about java but i know some things how to make very basic scripts.

    ...burp..

    Plugin Developer we need support!

I keep tying to restore my world and i think your parameters are to limited for the more hard to find harder pointers that are corrupted. It would be nice to restore my originally great world. Now i do Back ups ever 30 mins :p[cake]

FBack up is the best tool to use to back up the world in case you get a world corrupted. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfnSvpRRa5Q Get a walk through of the program.

P.S. In Fback up if you go in propitiatory on a back up you make and go to the bottom were it says Schedule then use the "Edit" drop down menu and click Schedule and then go to Advance you can set it up to back up every min or every 20 mins ect.. i recommend Doing a back up every 30 mins on one.. Making another Back up for the Map folder only for every 1 time a day and one you do manually. This way you can know you will have the minimal of rollbacks. I STRESS ALWAY POINT YOU UPDATES TO THE "WORLD FOLDER YOU HAVE" This way you can do back ups as the server is running. Other wise you will get errors and server crashes. :D

Hi, sorry to sound like a noob but, i have been tring for an hour to figure out howto install/use this tool. do i use cmd or do i use the bukkit cmd? thanks for reading :)

    @Altrasurfer
Move Chunkster.jar into the same directory as your world folder
Then go into command prompt, type cd /path/of/yourworldfile/
    then
    java -jar Chunkster.jar <world directory>
where <world directory> is the name of your world folder, example
    Code:
    cd /Desktop/Server/
    java -jar Chunkster.jar WorldFolder
btw, for path in that example i don't think that works, im on mac I wouldnt know, you need the complete path
