adding more RAM to server not working, help!

    hey im launching my server with this:

    java -Xincgc -Xmx2048M -jar craftbukkit-1.0.1-R1.jar

    when i press f3 , on top right it still says 1020mb.

    also how do i know if i need more RAM? my server lags a bit so would putting more RAM help? thanks

    The server lag might not always be caused by RAM. It might be caused by any applications you are running. Close all your downloads and then if it still lags then its your RAM. anywayys, shouldn't it be Xms instead of Xmx?

    do you realize that the F3 shows the memory on the client, not the server?
