mojang says this thurdsday they will be releasing 1.7.10
so i was wondering since this is a mostly realms update(which i know is still important)
will bukkit update with the new eula.text making us agree to the terms of mojang..
    or
will bukkit wait to update to 1.8

Toxic__Waste Bukkit might wait until 1.8. 1.7.10 really is not important for us, but for bukkit. There might be some eula policys that might harm bukkit comunity and things might change. Its kindof hard to give you an answer. My answer might be true, my answer might be wrong.

1.7.10? I'm still on 1.7.2 trying to find an econ plugin that works with UUIDs...

Gamecube762 update is mainly realms only. 1.7.10 clients can connect to 1.7.9

wouldnt bukkit have to update to a dev build of 1.7.10 to make it easier to update to 1.8?

    [08:10:36] [Server thread/INFO]: Loading properties
[08:10:36] [Server thread/INFO]: You need to agree to the EULA in order to run the server. Go to eula.txt for more info.

Toxic__Waste Why is that? 1.7.9 already contains UUID support. 1.7.10 is realms, so is not related.

What about the "Some bugfixes" plus "And many more"?

Oh look, it's Mojang trying to run themselves put of existence by not allowing servers that accept money for in game benefits. This is probably one of the stupidest business decisions of this century and will make MineCraft and the company that makes it a joke and thet will fail.

I don't think you realized that this has been in the EULA for a long time. Mojang has decided to not take action about servers breaking it till now. It's also not ruining servers since they can still sell ranks and in-game cosmetics as long as they don't modify game-play or give that player any advantages/disadvantages that other players don't get.

I very much understand that it has been in their EULA for as long as is relevant, however the move to enforce it will drive them out of business. And in the statement Mojang issued, they specifically singled out ranks:

    From a Minecraft blog post:

You are not allowed to split your playerbase into paying, and non-paying users, nor can you restrict gameplay elements to different tiers of player.

Almost all servers rely on donations similar to this one to stay afloat, also they will no longer allow paid-for plugins so high quality private plugins will disappear. It's suicide, on top of the pointless UUID update that will break most legacy plugins.

You need to be more creative. I came up with what I think is a pretty good way for minigame servers to make money, so I'm sure there are other people with even better ideas.

Wut? You can pay people whatever you want to write whatever software you want.
