    Hola!

I think that anybody new to programming would be better servicing themselves by avoiding YouTube tutorials.

They're generally made by a single person with (or even worse, sometimes without) a script. With no peers of equal skill to double check and look over the work before it goes public.

When tutorial books meant for learning are published, there may be a single author, but that book undergoes a lot of scrutiny by many people, to ensure that all of the work within it is accurate, up-to-date, efficient, and hopefully without bad practices.

YouTube tutorials simply don't have that kind of check and balance in place, resulting in a very substandard education.

Do yourself a favor, and rent a Java for Beginners book from your local county library.

I actually already learned from the dude for 7 months and just wanted to get your opinion, so I guess it's "too late" to get a book. Of course, I alawys go over any oracle tutorials for things he's a bit shallow on. The only thing really bothersome is that he must explain each and every line over and over, it gets repetive and annyoing and makes you forget the purpose of the tutorial, which is an upside of the book.

I also have a library of notes I created for myself, I made the mistake of creating a class learning about whatever and erase it afterwards, which didn't help.
