i was just wondering which of these plugins would make a lot of lag because my server is crashing some and it is annoying me. My server has 1.75GB ram with a 3GHz processor. If there is a alternative to the plugin tell me. Basically the more plugins you have, the more memory it takes up. So more plugins = more lag. But then this is not always the case, what is making your server lag specifically?
It doesnet lag really. It just suddenly crashes and i get no errors. It may lag a bit before but its not like a TON. It may be some of my players worldediting but i doubt it. I'm thinking of upgrading my server's memory to almost 2GB would that be enough?
Even if you upgraded the server's RAM you wouldn't be able to use all of it because some of it is reserved for system use. Also, Java only uses RAM in 1GB increments. So, even with the RAM you currently have, it is really only using 1GB of it. My server has 2.5GB of RAM, but since Java only works in 1GB increments it only uses 2GB and 512MB is used by the OS. Which, in my opinion, is a lot for Ubuntu... EDIT> WorldEdit crashes servers easily, even if the edit is small. Watch Essentials, I had to remove it from my server because it caused a 3-5 second lag whenever someone used an Essentials command. To test it type /ping. How ever long it takes to say Pong! is the lag it's creating. You can also test it out by using an Essentials warp.
i have a hoster and he claims that java uses the exact amount of ram. btw i can do about 600k worldedits when i do stoplag. I figured out the probelm anyway. it was attk. whenever someone said arrow to the knee it shot them with 100 arrows and crashed the server
Dynmap kills server. I used it In beggining it works fine. But after mounth it killed my server about 10 times in a day.
